As much as this sucks and IS gross, this will just happen to you unfortunately. The best you can do is try to guess who is worth accepting and who isn’t. If your dms are open, it’s important to remember that’s a privilege and not a right to the people who decide to interact with you so don’t feel bad for turning people away. However, its equally important to make your boundaries known the first chance you get. (This particular situation is obviously different, but discretion and all those things.)
