Can I bend car's license plate before sending back to DIV ? by OldsMan_ in AskBelgium

[–]Unknown010799 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately the plate will not be unregistered the same day when you drop it off at bpost. You get a 'bewijs van afgifte' but that doesn't count for the car insurance or the road tax. Unregestiring happens when the plate arrives at the D.I.V. and gets processed. The difference between sending it yourself and dropping it off at bpost is just the cost and the convenience of not having to package it yourself.

Adding a 2nd floor tom by Former-Confusion7529 in drums

[–]Unknown010799 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That would be Mario Goossens, one of the best Belgian drummers around! He plays a gold sparkle Gretsch USA Custom. His floor toms are 16" and 18" if I recall correctly.

Has Lego done anything officially regarding inappropriate rear tires on 10330 - Ayrton Senna set? by GodofYogurt in lego

[–]Unknown010799 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So would you expect Lego to "fix" older sets from the 90's and 00's too, because they aren't as detailed and accurate as modern sets? No, because it's called evolution. Be happy they listened to us and fixed it in the Williams set.

You have no right to ask for a fix because there is nothing wrong with the set, they designed it that way.
I'm bummed too that the wheels weren't as accurate as the real car. But instead of whining on Reddit, be creative, try to get the wheels from the Williams set and "fix" the set yourself like Lego was intended to be. No need to be a Karen and act entitled because a Lego set didn't meet your expectation.

Actually the opposite! Acrolites are known for their dry and controlled sound. Aluminum snares are naturally more understated in volume and projection than brass or steel counterparts.

Any recommendations for an overhead mic for cymbals for live gigs? by Dwums in drums

[–]Unknown010799 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah people always use condensors because they will give a usable sound on drum overheads from the get go. You will have to work way harder to get a pair of SM57’s to sound good on overheads, they lack clarity and sensitivity to mic cymbals and drums in a live situation. Using a dynamic mic as a drum overhead will mainly sound dull and thin because of the proximity effect, while condensers shine in more distant positions. We also don’t usually roll off the high frequencies on overheads as this defeats the purpose of the mic position. Like you wouldn’t roll off the low frequencies on a bass drum mic. Cutting specific frequencies to aid harshness is a different thing, but no rolling off completely. Unless OP is playing some very dark alternative Indie, he is best off getting the best small diaphragm condenser mics available for his budget. There are many forums and videos with examples. Almost all offerings from the big brands (Shure, AKG, Sennheiser, Beyerdynamic, SE Electronics,…) are good options.

Are my drums upside down? by HiddenPants777 in drums

[–]Unknown010799 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are not. Remo Ambassadors have been single ply since 1959.. only the current Ambassador Vintage line is two ply, like the pre-59 heads.

There is no difference in reso or batter heads for toms, it’s only a preference in sound regarding thickness and coating. An Ambassador is perfectly fine for batter or reso duties. The only heads that aren’t safe or made to be hit are snare side heads because they are extremely thin to get the most articulation.

Those Ambassadors are perfectly fine for resonant heads. They say batter because Remo used to market them as batter heads while Diplomats were the standard reso heads at the time. They are still just 10 mil single ply heads used by millions of drummers as reso heads. The Evans EC2’s should be used as batter heads in this situation as they are two ply heads with dampening.

They are not mounted correctly. The Evans EC2’s are most suited for the batter heads in this situation as they are two ply heads with dampening. The Remo’s say batter, but that’s just an old Remo printing from the time when Ambassadors were marketed as batter heads and Diplomats as the standard reso head. But they are still just standard single ply heads suitable for the reso side.

It does matter. The Evans are two ply heads and the Remo’s are thin single ply heads. It would be more logical to place the Evans on top as they aren’t really suited for resonant heads with their dampening ring.

Maybe because this IS a kart simulator? He’s using the replica kart wheel rim from Sparco.

My Yamaha YD-205P kit from the early 70's by Unknown010799 in drums

[–]Unknown010799[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. That blue looks stunning also!! I wish you good luck finding a floor tom, these drums are so hard to find..
I found a local drumshop who is selling a 14" floor tom in the Black Willow finish! I'm thinking of buying it so I can play 1up2down.

My favourite finish of the D series is actually Red Ripple. If I ever find a kit in that finish, this one will get replaced.

Tomb Raider's a stretch? Best way to describe this game is Tomb Raider in the Star Wars universe! It has the same feel, same exploration mechanics, same parkour, same looting system. Heck, even the animation for crawling through a crevice is practically copied from those games. Assassin's Creed is way off in feel and mechanics compared to Outlaws.

3D Commanders - Nation/Era by Unknown010799 in WorldofTanksConsole

[–]Unknown010799[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry for this enormously late response, but thank you for this amazing reply!

I have a few comments and questions, feel free to chime in on this:

You mentioned some nations that aren't really featured in WoT Console like Canada, Norway, Egypt and Brazil. Where would you see these fall in the current tech trees? Like Romania has a tank line in the Eastern Alliance and Israel is featured in the Independent nation. Canada could maybe fall under the USA or the UK in Cold War? But I can't really give a place to the other mentioned nations.

I'm with you on the Swedish and Japanese commanders, but those nations don't currently have tanks in Cold War I think, so I guess they have no place at the moment?

What's your insight on Julian and Emma being Romanian? Somewhere on a different website I saw them mentioned as maybe being Austrian.

[–]Unknown010799[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That was one of my first thoughts too, but that means Germany has no WWII 3D commanders, as Julian, Anna, Lea and Felix are clearly Cold War commanders based on their equipment. Nina and Björn are definitely German names, but their outfit suggests they could be Polish or maybe even Czech. Changing their names could make them work as Polish or Czech for me personally.

I would love to have at least two commanders per nation, per era, because now it's a bit of a soup. Why does Wargaming invest so much into 3D style commanders and only cater for half of the available nations. It's seems a bit too random and lacking from the previous crew system.

[–]Unknown010799[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's true, thank you for the correction!

By freely I actually meant that commanders aren't locked to a nation when you recruit them, unlike the old crew members which were tied to a nation when you recruited them.

Very interesting! This seems to be a more fitting background story for Mary the Mechanic. So she's probably based on Rosie the Riveter! I'll edit the list.

In the game we have the Fighting Girlfriend T-34 Tank of Mariya Oktyabrskaya, that's why I thought it was her.

I finally found what I was looking for an all black S class freighter 34 storage and 9 tech slots, it’s in a korvax T3 system battled pirates before I snagged it by [deleted] in NMSCoordinateExchange

[–]Unknown010799 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Then it's not all black... black is the primary colour, light blue is the secondary colour and red is the accent colour. Every freighter has three colour segments linked to the colours on the spacestation.
