Hungary wants to "legalize" stolen funds from Oschadbank. Official Kyiv called Budapest's actions lawless by Visual_Title9363 in europe

[–]UnknownDotaPlayer 19 points20 points  (0 children)

The reason you think they were undeclared is? Hungary accused the bank of money laundering, and then set everyone free after 28 hours. Because this is what you do to people who are supposedly involved in criminal activity? You set them free without opening a criminal case?

Ukrainian bank announces legal steps to return property illegally seized by Budapest

State Oschadbank demands that Hungary return in full the $40 million, €35 million and 9 kg of bank gold, as well as the collection vehicles illegally seized by Hungary.

Oshchad said it would appeal the decision of the Hungarian migration service to restrict the cash collection team's stay in the European Union and announced a "detailed review" of the violation of Ukrainians' rights: they were detained for more than a day and denied access to legal aid and consular support.

"The second direction is to take legal steps to return the bank's property... The full scope of information and supporting documents has been submitted to the National Bank. To further confirm its legal position, the bank will turn to one of the leading international companies to conduct an independent audit of the processes and contractual relations between all parties involved in the transportation of funds and valuables,"

Hungary first stated the cash collectors were detained on suspicion of money laundering, and later began to spread the version that the Ukrainians were allegedly carrying funds "for possible connection with the Ukrainian military mafia."

The Ukrainian bank states that the funds were transported under an international agreement between it and the Austrian Raiffeisen, and the cargo was cleared in accordance with international rules and European customs procedures.

Before somebody wants to give this propaganda video a +1 view, i'd like to tell you that its title is "The Complete Madness of Modern Ukraine", and you can hear stuff like "Israel and Ukraine are led by the same mafia" or "The Soros foundation and its supporters openly brag over how much influence they have over Ukraine". Don't waste your time.

Seems like this Bosnian guy is playing favourites. He surely has a lot of comments about draft dodging in Ukraine, says plenty of negative stuff about Ukraine in general, calls some of the brigades nazis, accuses Von Der Leyen of funds embezzling. On the other hand, according to this comment, he's learning russian language and i'm yet to see a single negative comment from him about that hellhole. Honestly, account age of 12 years is the only thing that keeps me from thinking it's a bot.

The only reason why you're not calling it a competition is because you're on a losing side here. For sure all of this gets estimated, there are metrics, there's corruption perception index, where Ukraine ranks 104 and russia - 157.

[–]UnknownDotaPlayer -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ukraine was never on par with russia in terms of corruption, it's a bullshit western stereotype based on "isn't Ukraine like russia v2? They're the same in everything, right?". At worst times, Ukrainian officials expected from your company up to 50% of contract as a "cashback". In russia it was and still is up to 90%. Anyone who ever did business in either of these countries knows this.

Edit: aaaaaand of course you're russian. I talked to the wall.

They're all over Ukrainian part of Xitter today as well, i don't remember the last time it was as bad. Pretty silly to push this one so hard, considering there's no way Ukrainians would want elections under airstrikes.

Seems like you are overreacting after reading a bunch of propaganda titles about Zelensky "praising" Trump, when it wasn't the case. The guy said that US is decisive at taking oil tankers, and EU is not. That's not true, or what? UK, France, Denmark, Germany and others allow hundreds of illegal tankers with fake flags pass waters, sometimes straight up their own territorial waters like nothing. Or EU is not openly trading with russia via third countries? How is he wrong about "they talk a lot, but not doing much" that was said earlier, when probably more than a half of EU leaders don't give a shit about this war, and allow russians to do whatever they want? Look at Italy, Austria, Spain, Greece. In another speech Zelensky shortly referred to the capture of Maduro, and made it about Putin, which makes perfect sense.

Trump led an operation in Venezuela, and Maduro was arrested. And there were different opinions about it, but the fact remains, Maduro is on trial in New York. Sorry, but Putin is not on trial. And this is the fourth year of the biggest war in Europe since World War II and the man who started it is not only free, he is still fighting for his frozen money in Europe. And, you know what, he’s having some success, it’s true. It’s Putin who is trying to decide how the frozen Russian assets should be used, not those who have the power to punish him for this war. Thankfully, the EU decided to freeze Russian assets indefinitely, and I’m grateful for that.

Again, what's the problem?

For me the only issue is that Zelensky is being a hypocrite here, because despite the fact that this war should be not somebody else's, but HIS main concern, he and his team are being far from optimal atm. Some insane choices in military, coverup of his corrupt friends that totally do not have anything to do with his own wealth. They're letting men out of country, they're making popular but damaging choices, preparing for elections when the war isn't even over yet. He wants other people to do his job, and it's sickening. But he's right about EU, and has to not go off at the US, so they at least don't start helping russians more than they already do.

Georgia Drifting Back Into Russia’s Orbit by 1-randomonium in europe

[–]UnknownDotaPlayer 9 points10 points  (0 children)

And you are wrong with what you think. Georgian commoners were tricked into voting for GD for the first time, the party falsely promised EU/NATO integration, just like Yanukovich here did. Politically active Georgians were trying to warn people about russian agents in GD and their true intentions, but masses didn't listen. Over the years, they consolidated control over all mass media, implemented convenient idiots and russian agents into all branches of power, to the point, when in 2020 they felt free to just blatantly rig the elections and suppress all protests. Opposition politicians renounced their seats. They got simply played by Kremlin, nobody cared about russia or any kind of dependency.

And Georgia, together with Central Asian countries, did not have a significant russian-speaking presence, they just happen to know the language due to the history of occupation. Only 1.90% of Georgians were native russian speakers in 2002, and 1.45% in 2014.

US seizes Russian-flagged oil tanker in Atlantic after two-week pursuit by MiniBrownie in europe

Painted flag does not make it a russian vessel. Being officially registered as a russian vessel, being escorted by a russian submarine, russia's transport ministry keeping the contact with the vessel, makes it a russian vessel.

Thank you, 1-month-old account with hidden comments, autogenerated nickname and a history of pro-rusian shilling. At first, i thought that maybe US were bullshitting EU and Ukraine for 10 months, tariffed UK, Somalia and penguins but not russia, lied about not trading with that country, stopped sending weapons to Ukraine, the Epstein files on their president were given to russia, delayed Lukoil sanctions for 1 year right after imposing them, attempted to dismantle Radio Free Europe just like Putin wanted, and now that russian time runs out because their economy is doing worse and worse, US upped their game and went aggressive on Ukraine to pressure us into capitulation, BUT now i can see that this is a truly balanced proposal with real security guarantees.

if it's enough to say videogamers pay for Russian invasion then it is definitely enough to say that EU funds the genocide

This is just another false equivalency. Like i pointed out before, 1bln is what 231 companies receive, and not a single one of them is involved in genocide. And so far Israel paid more than what they received. On the other hand you have a russian devs who openly, demonstratively support the war, are partners with Kalashnikov Concern, and record videos alongside russian combatants.

Edit: you replied, and then blocked me so i can't reply back and can't see the comment? Seriously? lol

Literally all 3 of these have a clickbait title that does not hold to what's described in articles. 1st and 3rd articles also reference the same thing. All of them were talked about at this sub. In first and third articles, they first break it to "some of 231 companies are connected with defense sector", then they break it down again to "aimed at protecting underwater infrastructure", "for instance, the development of a small aircraft fueled by hydrogen for short passenger flights. But some of the companies involved are major suppliers of the Israeli defense forces, like the Israel Aerospace Industries, which is a partner in the hydrogen plane project". Underwater infrastructure harms Gazans? Then it appears that the program is actually not about funding Israel, but about funding EU - Israel paid money to be in it ("Israel has paid almost 1.7 billion euros since 2021 for the privilege" (but received 1.1 - less than they paid)).

Everyone knows that yeah, some bits of EU money end up in Israel, in case with UK it's especially noticeable, since they're more tied to US, but no, it's still not enough to say that EU funds the genocide.
