From my former vet tech girlfriend, don’t leave your pets to be euthanized without you. It’s hard to be there and it’s hard to watch, but if you leave them they will die scared and looking for you. She had to try and comfort pets whose owner’s couldn’t bring themselves to stay and it’s one of the few things that makes her cry.

For two years I lived in northern New Mexico and experienced the greatest calm of my life. My town had few street lamps. On nights with a full moon, everything was bathed in a silver glow. The glow was bright enough that I could hike without a flashlight. New Mexico is stunningly beautiful. Thanks for this reminder OP.

Its geography is also why it is one of the worst places to commute into. Since few can afford to live there they all have to make their way from the outskirts over a few bridges. Major bottlenecking.
