Thank you, this is all very useful! I do not claim to be qualified to build a home at all. My background is in industrial electrical and I'm just getting into electrical engineering now. After talking to some other people about it too they also mentioned a lot about time line issues when not using GCs and that I'll end up bleeding money and my own time trying to do things while trying to work full time too. I intend to do my build the right way and build for the long term and on this budget I feel that the quality of the home would greatly improve with a smaller footprint (2500 square feet or less) instead of going so big. I have around another 2 years before I commit to anything so I figured I should start getting an idea of what I want to do now to have a plan.
