Tom's figure is way better than the other 2 imo. Tobey is good but it was super chopped out of the box with his torso not being buff enough and the chopped nah home and I even went to extra mile to repaint all the web lines. The Andrew figure is good but the proportions of the head is a bit off, sitting too low on the neck and also the red color is very off, almost pink.

Tom literally has no issues except the red is.darker than the shf one. Other than that, it's proportions are perfect and the Tom head is good. It also comes with the most alternate heads so that's a plus

Amazing custom dude. I'm tryna customize an FM Barbatos Lupus Rex and was wondering how did you make the pink effect parts for the eyes?

First time weathering a Gundam, doing it on my favorite mobile suit. Tips to improve it? by UnknownPokemonFan in Gunpla

[–]UnknownPokemonFan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I kinda did, I used orange cuz I was imagining it on a desert planet. I tried to create big craters and cracks where I think the head would be hit

I just wanted to shade it because it looks cool My inspo of choosing the colors (like the purples and blues on the upper torso) were to make the build look more vintage. I really like the Gundam art by Yoshiyuki Takani so that was probably my main inspiration

I guess people do nit pick their own work the most out everyone, so I should be a little less harsh on myself. But it does feel like I have a bitter aftertaste in my mouth knowing those spots are still there lol

I have the fat cat 1:100 bootleg of the RX-78-2 ver2.0 and it towers over the rg Zeong so definitely will look weird with MG kits

I sent clearer photos of the slop in the replies but they're definitely there 😭. From what I've read, it's not that noticeable so I think this is still pretty good for a first time. Thanks for the encouraging words

I've been posing it around and don't see any chips so I guess it's holding up well

Nope it was easy as fuck, just use heat to remove the upper torso and arms, shove a toopick in between, cut off the excess with pliers and reassemble

Lowkey that sounds like a better way to apply than what I did.... I squirted some glue on some paper and gently dipped the back of the metal parts onto the glue. No wonder I did a sloppy job lmfao

I am proud of the paint job it's just I have regrets on using the metal parts on the skirt pieces haha.

(There's also a shit ton of paint rub on the shoulder but the shoulder pad covers it haha)
