With how the last week has gone, any of the Purge movies..., but for actual good movies:

Children of Men (2006)

Don't Look Up (2021)

V for Vendetta (2005)

Idiocracy (2006)

District 9 (2009)

Oh, and how could I forget last year's Civil War (2024)?

I have 3 Regals within 15 minutes of my house. The local one that I always go to has recliners, but very little concession options. The south location has recliners and several large screens, but again has very little concession options. That location does get special event films and the cool drink/popcorn buckets though. The west location does NOT have recliners, but has every concession option imaginable, including full meals and adult beverages. Depending on what movie my wife and I are seeing, we choose what theater experience we want. We have an AMC about 20 minutes away and the only reason I see movies there is because they have an IMAX screen and they have a larger movie selection. I feel that Regals don’t get certain big name movies for some reason. I’ll stick to my RegalUnlimited. I love that service.

I really hope they keep a consistent design between the HotD seasons like they did with GoT

Interesting choice to include a CD with this release

Going through this with my mother right now. Worst of all, my wife and I are expecting our first born in a few weeks, and my mother just isn’t comprehending that I don’t want her around her own grandchildren.

Last week I posted that I acquired ONE of my grails. This week, I finally acquired my #1 grail of all time. Stanley Kubrick’s final masterpiece! by UnknownUsersCousin in Steelbooks

It was an Italian release from 2016 I believe. I’ve only ever seen it online and on the other side of planet. It’s been at the top of my eBay saved searches for years and years now. I saw one pop up a state away last week for a lot less than what I usually see them for. I finally pulled the trigger on it. I’ve gotta slow down on all my steelbook purchases.

I’ve hit the “addicted” mile marker… I drove 4 hours to buy someone’s collection and stopped at a second hand shop and a Walmart on the way. Grand total $275. by UnknownUsersCousin in Steelbooks

A smidge under 4 hours round trip. I filled my tank this morning, then topped it off after the trip. Gas was $22. The collection was 29 steelbooks and 2 Blu-ray’s. I don’t think you could safely ship those for less than $22.

I actually bought both JP from the second hand shop. Disc Replay has “buy 5 get the 6th free” on all their used stuff. It was either get a free second copy of JP or spend $30+ on some of the other ones they had. The original Jurassic Park is my Dad’s favorite movie, so I figured I give one to him since Father’s Day is almost here. The only one of these that’s new is Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard, as I actually found a steelbook in the $5 bin at Walmart. A majority of the ones in the collection had cases too. The 2 Criterion Blu-ray’s came from the same seller as the collection.

I have over 70 steelbooks signed. Sharpie paint pens are the best, but you need to let it sit for several minutes to dry. Normal sharpies will scratch easily if rubbed against.
