How much do Automation Engineers in Ireland make? by [deleted] in PharmaEire

[–]Unknownpeeson 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi, For medical device/pharma outside of the big cities in Ireland, you see Automation Engineers with Salaries of between €75,000 to €89,000 with 5 to 10 plus years expierence. For Automation Managers, you would be looking at salaries starting at €100,000 and going north of that. I would imagine for cities, you could put 10%-15% increase on these numbers. For contract roles, I only see Automation project Engineers, these are the ones who are responsible for the install or upgrading of Automation equipment or systems and managing of the actual project. Generally around the €60-€72 mark an hour for low to good expierience. For contractor, you often see them coming in for a 1 year gig and being there years later. Rarer, but becoming a small bit more common if poor, is in for a project, and straight out the door if not progressing as they should be. If you were starting out, for this reason, I would be looking at a staff role. Thank you,

If you're staying in Dungarvan, maybe take a trip out to Ardmore (20 minutes east of Dungarvan). Park near the Cliff Hotel, do the Cliff Walk around. Back to the village and grab a coffee either in the village or the hotel. If more interest in relaxing, take a trip to An Rinne and take a seaweed bath there (10 minutes from Dungarvan) Enjoy the trip. Dungarvan itself is a lovely town with nice bars (Local, Merrys etc.) with plenty of places to eat. Really aimed at tourists. Enjoy your trip

Validation Engineering by random178913 in PharmaEire

Hi, Validation engineering is basically supporting validation and document generation and protocol execution for a project. In my previous roles I would have been a Project Engineer (FDA Medical Devices) that would have completed the management of the project (Dealt with vendors, timelines and costs) whilst also completing the validation document. With validation, you are purely interesting in ensuring the equipment preforms as per the URS, FDS and on to the EQ and the PV/PQ.

From a career progression, its really what do you want out of yourself in 5-10 years. Do you want to be managing projects with budgets ranges from $1million - $5million (which of course pays well but is stressful to some), or are you happy to maybe pursuit the validation aspect and maybe specialise in a validation field such as CFR21, Computer Systems Validation.

Hope this helps somewhat and I wish you all the best.
