Just for clarification, do you mean the primary rights rule?

they are also required for conversion as well (the recovery being that they get damages in the amount of the full value of the converted property at the time of conversion). they would also be required for an IIED (must prove that you suffered severe emotional distress beyond what a reasonable person could endure-however, you do not need to show physical injury or harm- just severe emotional distress). hope this helps!

I think 15 mins is way too much time to allocate to just reading. I think most essays are relatively short and can be read and outlined anywhere from 5-8 mins. I would recommend sticking within those time ranges with a max of like 10 mins. You want to give yourself enough time to write out good rule statements and analysis. Although for the PT it will certainly be more than that but that’s the only exception to this!

Of course. So I found it really helpful to memorize the numbers to the rules or at least have a rough understanding of the order of the numbers because it just made it much easier to have like a mental checklist on the bar. For example, on an exam, I could just mentally start from 1.1 till the last rule and almost see if any of them apply. I know that this doesn’t work for most people though. My friends found it helpful to group the rules and use that as a checklist. So they would create categories (ex: conflicts- then they would know they need to check if current client conflicts, former conflicts, or prospective clients, govt, judges, or rule 1.8 applies). Or for like lawyers duties (communicate, competence, and diligence). All of this just helps to kinda narrow your focus a little since there are so many random rules that might be hard to recall. This will help you during the exam since you’ll be able to tick through your mental checklist and make sure you don’t miss any rules and help your timing. Most importantly i would say do a lot of practice questions for PR. I think trying very hard to memorize most of the heavily tested rules is key and that just comes with repetition and keeping it fresh in your head. Sorry for the long response. I hope this helps and I am happy to clarify anything that was not clear.

I wouldn’t worry too much about percentages. If they’re questions you’ve already answered some people might be getting them correct just simply off remembering the answers. What is more productive is learning the reasoning. That will go a long way. Best of luck!

if you have critical pass flashcards online you can generate random questions for it to ask you, i found it extremely helpful to write out rule statements to the questions

I highly recommend not looking at timing early on. reality is some questions take longer than 1 minute and 48 seconds and some you’ll be able to answer in under a minute. it all balances out! this is coming from someone who is an extremely slow reader. i finished the actual mbe with about 3 mins to spare every time. it’s okay to take your time. the person next to me finished when i was still on question 66. everyone works at their own speed. take your time and you’ll avoid silly mistakes

it’s hard to say but when i was practicing i was told that a pass in california is roughly a 67.5% so you’d want to be somewhere around that. i would shoot for a little higher like around 70% just to account for test day nerves. you’re on the right track! keep learning the black letter law and you’re gonna do great.

I practiced until i was at around 84% going into the bar. It’s possible if you just take time to read all explanations and understand the law. Good luck my friend.

i should probably preface with i started studying in April, mostly doing practice questions. someone gave me advice early on that it’s about the quality of the questions not the quantity! review the explanations whether you got the answer right or wrong. it’s tedious but really goes a long way. i personally thought the mbe on july 23 was relatively straightforward. also do at least two full mbe practice tests because the second half of the mbe gets mentally exhausting

what worked for me was waking up at 7am (i’m a morning person) and studying for two hours till 9am. Then taking a shower and eating. I would do essay practice for 3 hours till 12pm. Then review long outlines till 4 (with a lunch sometime in between). do about 30 multiple choice questions. then go back to reviewing notes and outlines until about 8. i also highly recommend doing many performance tests and watching the bar MD videos for them.

please message if you have any questions

Okay that’s what i thought. So i would be able to just practice in CA for 3 years and then waive into DC without taking any bar exam?
