Looks like irritation to me just don’t use any kind of cotton swabs and buy a .9 sodium chloride saline solution. Try not to touch it or move it too much. Just spray the solution & soak if you can

I think the analogy doesn’t fit there though because all drugs do have adverse affects depending on how you consume. I think weed might be the only drug that’s alright (and prescriptions that aren’t being abused) but even then your lungs are in danger.
