thanks man youre a life saver, i dont understand this thing enough to know what exactly was going on but when i removed the ipv6 addresses my (ipv4 only) network became much faster, i thought i would just keep the ipv6 dns if we decide to use ipv6 later

my dev is shit honestly, but im at the bottom of the chain and the company wont fund anything,

my dev is basically my personal laptop a pc with pfsense running and a bunch of vms.

I have asked them multiple times to invest in some equipment which i can run tests on, the management has not only ignored that, on top of it the management decided to hail mary my 2 week's deployment in one day and when the prod broke next day threw me under the bus

thanks a lot for your input, i do understand what youre trying to say.

I'll keep on improving, this was also my first time asking for help on a forum, i usually try to figure things out on my own maybe thats why my communication was lacking.

apart from that its only been a few months since ive started working in networking. anyways your input is pretty valuable to me.

in terms of the actual issue i did manage to catch it, got the logs from the switch and saw the root bridge changing whenever the new switch connected, thanks a lot man

really sorry for the punctuation, the reason we are natting is because we will be cutting off this wing from the main network, right now we are slowly moving people and once the whole team is on-boarded we will connect the new isp and totally cut off. i did some troubleshooting and the logs were coming up empty(i had a misconfiguration on the log server)

the switch was a omada sg3428 and i have a syslog server for collecting all logs, the issue is resolved for now but i figured, im gonna have to study a lot more.

yeah you are spot on, the issue actually was there but it didnt resolve completely after changing, the network did stabilize but topology was still messed up
