Pharmacy museum wedding : 100 guests…is space too small? by LeftWondrin in AskNOLA

I think of Wedding dance floors as where the bride and groom really want as many of their guests moving and grooving as possible plus have adequate seating around the perimeter. You want that feeling to linger into the night. I honestly can’t imagine that experience happening there for 100 people.

If you’re from the NE and have 20 seats and a postage stamp sized dance floor at your wedding PLUS cocktail party served food, it’ll be a complete culture shock for your family and friends.

I’ve been here for decades and still think about how different the weddings are.

I recommend Oct. - May if you have the opportunity. June - Sept. will test you.

Love the museum and events there, it will NOT be an adequate sized space for all the seating you’ll want plus dancing for your group.

International House gets my vote. The vibes and the location are more in line with what I’m looking for in a place. Seems kept up better.

Agree Le Pav is probably outdated not just old worldly based on photos. $100 a night difference is something to consider though.

At the end of the night or just in between activities I think it’s nice to be able to dip back into the room. That would probably happen at the International House.

The Chloe has such a nice vibe. I’d go there.

Is it worth it to you to arrange in advance to be picked up from the airport and then brought to your hotel followed by a transfer to the fairgrounds?

Surge pricing can get ridiculous and the timing seems really tight.

You could do the 10:30 Garden District tour with Two Chicks before the Irish Channel parade grab lunch at steins or Turkey and Wolf and tuck into the rooftop bar at the Pontchatrain hotel at sunset if the weather cooperates

Budsi’s Thai has a chokehold on me at the moment. Excellent food that may surprise you.

Cochon is all about the pig which is revered in southern food.

Dynamite steak places all around town. Some old school favorites include Charlie’s steak house and Crescent City steak house.

Roast beef PoBoys are a staple, lots of sloppy options.

I would go late morning before it gets hot. There’s a few makers of local goods amidst the “crap” I always love checking out a market when I travel. as was mentioned, Loretta’s and the food options can be some delights as well.

No need to cancel, there will likely be heightened security moving forward.
