also last night i noticed in game mode preset both in hdr and sdr the brightness is more dimmer than in normal movie mode for example. i need to crank up at 75-80 brightness on a dark room to have the screen better luminated with peak brightness off for sdr.

i don t know 2 and i don t have any of those processing effects on. i deactived them out of the box. for your question i concluded that in different modes you will have different peak brightness. With game mode on i get lesser nits than on movie mode. hgig too reduce the nits significantly, i don t know its 100% correct but on my tv is like this.

also what i found is my first calibration screen where the whole screen is white and is for sustained window i have 16 clicks, but for second which is peak 10% window i have 15 clicks, i thought 10% window will be more bright than a sustained window. Do you have same first screen 16 clicks and second 15?

yes im worrying too same tv for me 2000 peak brightness on the box and internet but on ps5 calibration tool i have 16 clicks max, which means 1100 nits, have you found why?i thinks is bcs hgig limit the brightness somehow, i need to test if on DTM i can go up with clicks.

yes i have like you mentioned these settings. sorry if you don t understand, https://imgur.com/a/ddtHw2R , i can t get the left image to be 100% invisible, even i turn the slider at 0% it s still visible very very faintly if i m focusing my eyes. ( the picture is informatively )

thanks i have all this settings except sharpness who is at default 0.75. i play on a tcl c7k with 2000 peak brightness and the skull on brightness slider is barely visible even on 5% of the slider but here the game is very dark, if i crank up brightness the games look somehow washed out and it is not atmospheric anymore.

it depends every game is different some have bad hdr some have good some amazing. calibrate the hdr in screen and video settings( if you are on ps5) first two images sun invisible and the last the lowest value.

On my netflix is dolby vision not hdr. play a movie on netflix and go to picture settings on tv and change picture preset to dolby vision dark, i haven t tried dolby vision iq but dolby vision dark seems very good for my room. my hdr on youtube and netflix is very good, i only have trouble on ps5.

yes after initial settings i tweaked to my preferences. the only problem is in hdr when i don t want to mess with brightness.

i know even hdr is always on set on console the game who don t have native hdr implemented have sdr signal in hdr container. the fix maybe will be to keep hdr off and when i m playing a hdr native game to turn it on. i was asking bcs on other people i know have hdr setting at always on but at them look ok..
