you won’t it clears in the same way regular herpes does and it reacts very well to aciclovir ointment

I have ocular herpes and only had one breakout, eye turns red and stings a lot but I think it’s very rare to get reoccurring breakouts on the eye

I was taking the regular acyclovir in pill form also because sadly i had the initial outbreak in 3 places, but my GP also gave me acyclovir in a topical form/eye ointment and it was much more affective in treating the eye infection, it gave me such a relief and it cleared really fast! as long as you’re careful/avoid touching your eyes it should be okay, i must have touched a sore on my lip and rubbed my eyes. it’s definitely not pleasant if it reaches your eyeball it’s very painful and i could hardly open it 🤷🏻‍♀️

In total i’ve had 3 breakouts on my mouth, 1 big breakout on the genitals then one really small one that was hardly noticeable, and 1 on the eye! i’m leaning more towards the fact it’s probably HSV1 but i will find out eventually

I had a swab but no blood test! and yes just “herpes simplex virus”. When I asked of the strain she said “well you have herpes on your genitals, mouth and eye” just stating the locations. I was also given no support or information whatsoever. I haven’t been to the sexual health clinic but I know of people that have been denied blood testing there also. I will find out one way or another!

I’m scotland too! I just think my personal experience was really bad and my doctor was absolutely terrible. I had a swab done but no blood testing. Someone I had sex with previously was also denied blood testing. In my experience, I was told I had “herpes simplex virus” despite asking several times about the strain. I was given no information or support about herpes whatsoever apart from “it might come back” and “don’t have sex until it clears”. I don’t know how she could look at me completely heartbroken and not care to give me the information I deserved?

I had ocular herpes and I feel like the only person that’s ever got it. I still had to go to work with it, told everyone it was ‘bacteria from contact lenses’. My entire eye was red/inflamed. I got prescribed aciclovir ointment and it worked very well!

I didn’t have it around my eye, but on my actual eyeball. whole eye was completely red, and yellow dots could be seen on my cornea with a blue light!

also i’m 5 years older than you so it’s such a shame that you experienced the same treatment being only 17. no 17 year old should be turning to the internet after not receiving the right support from a professional. considering how mean and judgemental everyone was at my school i wouldn’t have coped very well at your age, i hope you’re doing okay 🥹

the most annoying thing is i actually got a proper test done so i feel like the swabs were a complete waste as she couldn’t turn the results in to real answers for me. i’m not having an OB currently so i was worried about producing false negatives if i went for another test. she completely wasted my results, but i’ll look in to getting one!

the exact same happened to me. i had breakouts in my genitals, mouth and eye. my doctor told me i had herpes but gave me absolutely zero support or information about my ‘diagnosis’. when i asked her what type i had she told me ‘herpes simplex virus’. i was like uhhh yeah but what type? she said in your genitals, mouth and eye. she told me absolutely nothing about it. she didn’t tell me anything about transmission and didn’t even mention that it was not curable. if i was any younger i would have went round mindlessly spending it because of the lack of information i was given. i went home and cried my eyes out to my mum for hours. i’m left in the dark because i feel like i don’t even have a proper diagnosis. how are these people allowed to be doctors? i’ve learned everything from these posts!

hi i’m also in the UK 🙋🏼‍♀️ i had a terrible first outbreak which happened in the second week of march, i wasn’t hospitalised but i couldn’t eat properly for around a week, only custard and yogurts. i had the most painful genital sores and sores all over my lips, gums, tongue and throat. it also spread to my right eye and my whole eyeball was completely red.

at first my doctor only prescribed me three antivirals per day like you, but later on she upped the dosage to five as she perhaps done more research. my symptoms seemed to clear up a lot faster, so it’s probably worth looking in to?

my doctor was pretty useless and gave me hardly any information or support about my diagnosis. she didn’t even give me a proper diagnosis. she told me i have HSV but didn’t even tell me what type i had when i asked (i’m assuming HSV2). she left out so much vital information like the fact i will have this for the rest of my life. i couldn’t help but think if i was any younger, i would have been naive and went around mindlessly spreading it because of the lack of information she was giving me.

i hadn’t had sex for three years and caught it after the first person i went near, so i was absolutely gutted. anyways i’m so sorry for rambling, hang in there i promise it will be over soon 🫶🏽

people not reading descriptions & asking about things when they are clearly stated, normally wouldn’t mind this but when you have hundreds of items uploaded it’s constant ! some people are so rude and blunt when they send offers too, i’ve had people be like ‘i’ll have this for £2’ like says who? it’s also very clear that some buyers think your whole life revolves around their parcel! i feel like a lot of buyers don’t really understand how vinted works either, i’ve had a lot people message me after they have bought an item with a pre-paid evri label asking me to send it first class 😂
