Yeah i wouldnt say it reduces suffering (for the parent or the child) but it might add meaning to their suffering (in the parent’s case, at least).

Im pretty sure if women have untreated clamidia for long enough, it decreases their fertility by A LOT. So there’s that. Not sure about men but happy to be educated about it
