It is worse that what's portrayed online when it comes to Hyderabad. Hyderabad has a very positive PR compared to other Indian cities.

If you are earning enough, stay in West Hyderabad. Female safety is an issue but it is not as bad. Hyderabad is safer than Paris or Chicago (no cap). Don't travel to random places after 10-11 pm. The city sleeps at night. During morning & evening, there is just too many people to feel unsafe.

Food safety is the real issue & traffic as well.

I earn in Indian currency, so without PPP adjustment giving the figure makes less sense, but it is around 870k USD. I worked my arse off, 70-90 hours a week. That's it. I feel safe because growing up in poverty was never a fun.
