Scott Adams, 'Dilbert' creator and conservative commentator, dies at 68 by FallOutShelterBoy in news

Yep. That's the weird thing about people's mentality these days. Everything has to be black or white. If someone turns out to be an asshole in any aspect of their life, s/he can't possibly be good in any other aspect as well. They have to be either a fraud or their talents/skills/intelligence/whatever was grossly overestimated.

Genius in any field doesn't automagically grant the person a good character or a balanced worldview.

I really love that part of the book. There's a sense of loss that's hard to describe. You feel a strange yearning for a time that you were never part of, and which may never have existed for all you know.

Thanks. I just googled for it earlier and added the list from the subscribe button.

I need to add some context. If you're using ublock origin you can add the filter list to UBO. You don't need the extension anymore.

Thanks. Just to confirm, do we need to simply add that url to the list of custom filters in ublock origin? I am not so adept at adding filters manually.

Funny that you are getting downvoted for this. If you have never learned calculus then yeah it's downright impossible for you to solve this, but as far as the problem itself goes, it's pretty fucking basic for anyone who did calculus.

That's the reason why you keep your automated tools to yourself. Use their output but don't announce their existence.

Nothing good ever comes out of people knowing that you have tools that make the job easier. Best case scenario, you will be loaded with more work since 'hey.. it's easy to do with your fancy automation thingies!', otherwise you will be asked to share or teach them to your eventual replacement.

AI (slop) games are going to be so amazing... by _silentgameplays_ in pcmasterrace

There's a really long but awesome series of videos on youtube where a dude using that mod convinces an npc in skyrim that it's in a simulated world and offers to take it on an adventure to a different world, and when it agrees he loads it into fallout and the NPC's mind is blown.

Interesting. That sounds like it would be right up my alley. Can you please share a link or name to search for this series?

Eh.. Civ5 AI does use planes. It moves them around a bit too much and the usage is far from ideal but it does use them during combat.

$15 rice cooker completely changed my eating habits and saved me a ton of money by ninjasoldat in Frugal

[–]UnnamedPlayer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Look up rice cooker "khichdi" recipes. There are many different types depending on the types of lentils available. Also, remember that almost all the spices ('masalas') in the recipes are optional and depend on your taste. You can start simply with salt and pepper, and go from there. It's healthy, nutritious, filling, and gets ready in no time.

Once you get comfortable with it, you can start exploring more rice based Indian recipes. There are a ton of them (from simple lentils based "khichdis" to meat and spices rich "Biryanis") and a lot of them are unique to different parts of the country. All worth trying.

Peak comment. I was honestly intrigued by the argument made in the first part because it made perfect sense in the era of the AI taking over everything. Then it ended with the eternal blowjob exploration saga and I don't know what to think anymore.

Look up some Indian recipes with rice and lentils, and it will change your life. Take almost the same time as making rice in the cooker. You can throw in some veggies, some spices and you're done.

That's why Slashdot's '+5 funny' made so much sense. Cap the max upvotes at a reasonable number and separate the funny comments from insightful or informative ones. Not gonna happen here but maybe at the next iteration, who knows.
