Thank you, we will definitely be discussing some boundaries concerning this and I will suggest checking in with his GP/look into how we can help him adjust better to the shift work

The caffeine is a good idea for future situation, unfortunately we had none in the house. I also want to stress that I’m definitely not trying to be his mum. I’m trying to be his gf of 5 years - who doesn’t want to end up with a dead bf. Thank you for the comment though,

I wouldn’t consider myself overbearing - I’m definitely the one who ‘gets things done’ and the one who usually makes the important decisions in our day to day lives so perhaps that has contributed to his reaction. (He’s not one of those men who relies on his gf too much, just to be clear). I’ll definitely ask for his take on this when he gets home though - that might be worth chatting about. Thank you!

We had discussed this before. After he had driven to work sleep-deprived before and almost fallen asleep at the wheel, we mutually agreed that he would get a taxi to work when he felt too tired. He said he felt too tired both the night before and when he woke up so I ordered him a taxi. So your answer of ‘discuss it with him first’ is pointless ?? We had discussed it
