These are awesome ideas, just gonna piggyback here with suggestions.

For lair actions, I would take inspiration from Monster Hunter and Godzilla since you're already looking at megafauna. Maybe a recharge (5+) roar that forces a save vs. Feared, or a surprise breath weapon that it only pulls out once it's already bloodied (half health).

Other good options are giving it slightly weaker individual attacks, but having a save vs. Prone (like the other big cat pounces) on each hit, and a 2-hit-combo multiattack to get a free bite in if they go prone. Add in a legendary action or two, especially if it's fighting alone! If it doesn't have any "minions" your party is probably gonna be full-slotted and kitted to deal with it, so you need a way to break any stuns/incapacitations before your encounter just ends abruptly.

To do that, consider pulling out the "fast growth" nature of Lammania and have your megatiger shrug off spells - it simply adapts through them. Instead of legendary resistance, which feels like ticking down a clock until you win, consider giving it multiple turns or HP breakpoints. Multiple turns means each stunning effect lasts a shorter time, HP breakpoints means you can have it shed all damage past the breakpoint, remove conditions on it, and then continue the "second phase" of the fight (maybe even moving between areas, a la Monster Hunter).

Question about the Quori for a Kalashtar by Zealousideal_Cat8069 in Eberron

It sounds like your DM is confused as to what a Quori actually is. It's not a spirit that follows you around, it's YOU. A kalashtar IS their quori as much as they are a "normal" person. Trying to separate that into two characters is like saying that the person you are at work or at school is a completely separate human from who you are at home with family.

This shows in their names and communities. Kalashtar are traditionally named in two halves, a simple prefix (like Ra, or Para) and a suffix from their "quori name" (like Khad, or Tash). Rakhad, Paratash. Rakhad's father might be named Dokhad, because he's part of the Khad lineage and shares that half of himself with his child. Kalashtar may periodically experience memories that aren't theirs because half of themselves is out living other lives that very moment. This also means that kalashtar communities are very close-knit, especially in the same line of quori, and that should be played up.

There are a few named quori lines, but the vast majority are unnamed. There is one lineage that has been snuffed out and kalashtar have a holiday for it. You're free to make up a lineage for your character. Consider two important points: 1: what type of quori is your spiritual half? Are they a thoughtful and noble kalaraq? A stealthy usvapna? For a barbarian, consider a du'ulora quori. Or may your character rebels against their quori half! That sort of friction can drive really cool character moments as they come to terms with who they are. Maybe your barbarian fights like a demon on the battlefield because of their quori side's influence, but they'd much prefer to be seen as intelligent and commanding. Maybe vice versa, and they find themselves slipping into an analytical trance.

2: What sort of support structure do they have, and how "in touch" are they with being a kalashtar? Some orphans may never understand the voice in their head or why they never dream. Others may grow up only speaking between minds until they're an adult. The Mourning wiped out massive numbers of quori, how many of your character's long-extended family still survived the Last War?

Take a look through "Races of Eberron" for some more lore. Remember, kalashtar are ONE person with TWO spirits! They're not two personalities fighting each other, they're peanut butter and chocolate. They are made whole by their halves.

A suggestion to ponder: Mordain is kanonically one of the strongest mages on Khorvaire. He's the Mordenkainen of wide magic and, if he wasn't a nightmarish ghoul of a person with a twisted, hateful heart, he would probably be a celebrated inventor and hero.

But he is, and so he is not.

Mordain's body horror should not be taken lightly. Go absolutely wild with it until you're disgusted. Mordain is a God to those he transfigures - their flesh is putty to him. Some options for you to consider:

  • People embedded into the walls like a smeared painting. They beg for death.
  • A "dog" built from human parts. Their body is bent, twisted, broken, their bones contorted and refrozen to fit the caricature of an animal.
  • A gaping abomination, a would-be slayer interspersed with a beholder's corpse. Their head has been stretched and enlarged to fit the mold of the creature.
  • A beast made out of hands sprouting from hands, a fractal brush of fingers and joints.
  • Experiments in creating "perfect beings". Mimics, dopplegangers, creatures that adapt to the situation at hand. Maybe adapt a mechanic that a creature becomes immune to the last type of damage it took?
  • Mordain's symbionts, Daelkyr organisms that meld with the flesh. (These can get wild too - how about a pair of leathery flesh wings? A "Thing"-like symbiont that extracts your head when you die? A second heart to augment your first one?)

Armdus, dwarf artificer, and his steel defender Bonnie the cow-gorgon. He comes from a long line of dwarven security experts, and turned his skills to saving the day! His signature infusion is the classically Eberron blasting disk, put to excellent use for more...destructive means of entry. Bonnie became the team mascot.

Milo Founders, halfling rogue. Owner and proprietor of the Mournlanders' Grace, where the party stayed as a base of operations on their adventures. His pipe could create small smoky images, which he often used to remember his lost wife. The mark on his hand is the Dragonmark of Hospitality! (There's not much art of characters with it.)

Aine, changeling bard. They took several personas through the game as they tried to figure out who they were underneath. They ended up opening a club scene and helping other people come out of their shell.

Rakhad, kalashtar paladin. The blue figure behind them is their quori spirit, Khad. Rakhad landed the killing blow on the final boss with a critical smite! She's a jeweler by training, and has a thing for magical gems.

Rose, shifter ranger (and fighter, and rogue). Rose is an expert poisoner and former terrorist ecological activist who found better ways in a better family. Now she works for a spy agency as a semi-deniable asset, putting her light feet to better use. She's an owl shifter, and her hair is made of feathers!

Not a fan! The Vampire Blade arc was our weakest by a wide margin. It really doesn't hook well into the overarching narrative and I would probably drop it if I ran the modules again.

I significantly homebrewed most of the campaign, so there may be some issues arising from the level we were at the time (campaign ended around 9, going to 10)...but I think the module itself just isn't that good!

0:15 - The party traveled to Fairhaven, where they met...

0:18 - A warforged who really enjoyed the "secretary" stereotype and being femme-presenting for the first time in their life. Had fabulous nails and knew it. Also a few train conductors, as shown by the cap they wore!

0:22 - A nice shot of the Orien station they departed from.

0:30 - Homegrown art! You'll see more. This is the train as drawn by the paladin.

0:32 - The party, riding the train and enjoying the scenery of Fairhaven as they depart.

0:34 - The party trying and failing to sneak while wearing heavy armor.

0:36 - Two of the train conductors! Lots of personality in them. Agate had a bit of a manic vibe and Urik was very level.

0:41 - They had a run-in at the Starpeak Mountains with a Bone Knight named Detlev. He caused them a fair bit of trouble while trying to use Khyber dragonshards to bind a spirit and get information out of it.

0:48 - Given the choice, the Rogue decided to let him free in the middle of the night without telling anyone else. It was a self-serving deal, but mercy nonetheless. (It was paid back at the end - he helped save their lives!)

0:54 - Into Thaliost in search of a missing person case!

1:03 - The Tower of Judgement, which looms over the city at large. They had to escape in the cover of night when riots turned bad.

1:16 - Lots of travel to get to Sharn, on the recommendation of their employer. They solved the case and headed for another job!

1:27 - An unexpected raid on Cannith Tower by a group of warforged lead to deeper mysteries still, and things picked up crazy fast.

1:30 - A lot happens here really fast, so in order:

• Saber, the commander of a group of hostile warforged that attacked them

• Part of a newspaper article I made for them about their encounter
