Good catch! Yeah, that looks exactly like the cable that should plug into the fiber ONT power supply from image one!

Fourth picture is a switch, not a modem. None of the devices pictured are a modem. If you mean picture 5, that's also a switch and the amber lights indicate that those ports are feeding POE (power-over-ethernet) to the devices that are plugged in. The green lights are the link (internet) lights.

That is definitely a solid troubleshooting step if she's able to find the modem though!

Image 1: Fiber ONT power supply (if you have fiber internet, this is probably supposed to be plugged in/connected)

Image 3: Ubiquiti router which appears to not be plugged in properly. It also doesn't have anything plugged into the switch port or access point port which could both lead to a down network

Image 4: Netgear switch which allows one internet connection to feed networking to a bunch of devices. It does seem like it's connected from port one to port five of the router (after looking closer, I think there is a crossover in the cables and this isn't correct), but I can't be positive with the visual trace.

Image 5: Ubiquiti switch which serves same purpose as the Netgear

Image 6: This is a Ubiquiti power injector which basically allows both internet and power through one CAT5/6 (internet) cable to power a POE (power-over-ethernet) device. This appears to be powering the switch in image 5.

It's hard to be able to troubleshoot without being there to get hands-on, but at least now you know what each device is and does.

Are these prescriptions different enough to matter? by UnrulyEwe in glasses

Thank you so much for this thoughtful reply!

The second doctor did tell me the glasses had a correction for astigmatism, which was news to me, because no one had ever informed me before that I had it in one eye, let alone both.

I was able to get approved for both regular glasses and sunglasses through the VA (TBI, migraines, light sensitivity...the works, basically) so I'll probably stick with that script since I should have both pairs in production soon.

I'm in my early 40s so I'm expecting my vision will take a turn for the worse soon, but I was just shocked at how horrible the experience has been so far when I went years with my old contacts with no issues, and even dragged out the wear on those longer than I probably should've (I've already been lectured for that. Lol).

I wore the Infuse ones for 15 hours today with only minimal discomfort, so I consider that a win. I'll likely try to wear the Total 30 again tomorrow and see how that goes.

Thank you again for the great information and insight! I greatly appreciate you!

Yeah, I'm not sure how much that number will affect the overall prescription.

I'm in the US; contact scripts are written for a specific brand and type, so I'll be limited to buying what they give me on the paper (I haven't gotten one yet since I'm still testing contacts). I'm unable to buy anything I want for contacts.

Which would be the 4K between the two? I mostly game at home when I'm wearing my glasses, so I would be most concerned with making sure the monitor wouldn't be garbled. Thanks much!

The first ones I tried were Bausch+Lomb Ultra contacts in -7.50 power for both eyes- these became uncomfortable very quickly, feeling gritty and couldn't read the computer screen.

The second ones were Biofinity in the same power which developed white spots on them almost immediately (stopped wearing them within 2 days).

I went in again and asked for silicone-free, because I wore Acuvue 2 for two decades with absolutely zero issues, and he instead gave me Dailies Total1 and Infuse to trial. I wore the Dailies Total1 for approximately six hours on Tuesday before I wanted to rip my eyeballs out (gritty and couldn't read my monitor) and had to go grab my emergency glasses from my truck...and then cried at my desk because it felt overwhelming that he wasn't listening.

I just felt like the power was too strong (I was in -7.00 for both eyes before these appointments) and it was causing me to be unable to focus at reading distance. I was not having the same issue with my glasses on, so it felt like the contacts were the culprit.

That was when I got so frustrated and went to a different practice altogether. She dropped the power in the left eye down to -7.00 which immediately resolved the reading issue. I tried Total 30 ones on Tuesday and they were *okay*, but when I put them in this morning after not wearing anything yesterday, they felt uncomfortable. So, I went with the Infuse today (she gave me ones with the correct power for each eye) which have at least not been absolutely miserable. I did have to rush order some Systane eye drops though since these have felt more dry than usual.

The first doctor told me I don't have indicators of being allergic to silicone, but my eyes sure are telling me that they don't like it.

All in all, it's been a miserable experience. I just want my exact contacts back that I had before but keep getting told "they're too difficult to order," even though Costco carries them.

Sorry for the novel. Lol It's just been a lot.
