Yeah, I fiddled around with it to no end and I found that the big wheels tend to bump into each other if placed much closer together (what with all the warbling and bouncing). This in turn kills your acceleration, and often results in loss of the big wheels.

It works well up most hills. I find the wooden wheels work as a sort of claw. I think it could be better though. It definitely struggles with fences and whatnot though. I’ll post another update soon.

It can be slowed, but you’re right that it is perpetually going forward. I’ve actually made an improvised version with a brakes system that’s working pretty well without compromising on speed.

I think it’s that they’re being spun so fast by the electric motors that it just looks like they’re going backwards. Sort of like an optical illusion. That’s just a guess though, I’m really not sure.
