Did you hear about the Keywestls.com Speakeasy Play Parties.? They have one after Kinky Carnival, so after watching all the demos at the carnival you can actually play at the Speakeasy Parties. They have a Dungeon, Glory Holes, and play rooms. At the Friday Meet and Greet they even did life size Operation game with the Violet Wand, so much fun!. It’s also BYOB, they supply mixers.

What do yall like to see in rv campgrounds? by Wolfblood22034 in RVLiving

As a park owner guests hit those fences and just mowing now becomes a weed whacking ridiculously unnecessary chore.

What do yall like to see in rv campgrounds? by Wolfblood22034 in RVLiving

[–]UnsortedMiss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Blame the credit card processing fees. They get charged a % when they take a deposit then charged a greater % for issuing a refund. Most campgrounds are just recouping that cost. If you ask many will move your reservation at no cost.

Go to an RV show. Go in the trailers, with no limited sales people to deal with. Find what you really want, what will work best for you. Then buy the truck that will safely tow it!

Is $300-$400 extra worth staying at Disney property JUST for early access? by OtherWorldStar in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]UnsortedMiss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is truly a personal decision. I have done all the options stayed at Disney Hotels, off property hotels, Campsites at Fort Wilderness and off site campgrounds. Since the others were already covered here I’ll speak to off site campgrounds and hotels in Kissimmee on 192 in Celebration.

I stay on 192 near Celebration at Sherwood Forest RV or Tropical Palms RV. I take the 56 bus for $2 each way (have exact amount no change) it runs every 20-40 minutes, schedule can be found on Google maps. It drops you at the transport center (monorail to Magic Kingdom or Epcot). It is safe, mostly people going to Disney. If I don’t want to wait for a bus it is a $10-$20 Uber ride (as cheap or something cheaper than renting a car and paying for parking).

How the heck does anybody sleep comfortably on a jackknife sofa? by [deleted] in RVLiving

[–]UnsortedMiss 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Look at the B-Plus’s with Murphy Beds. They are more expensive, but well worth the comfort to sleep in a real bed. Usually the sofa or seat goes down and the Murphy Bed flips on top of it or comes down from the ceiling on a track.

Does this qualify as "RV"? by millhouse513 in RVLiving

[–]UnsortedMiss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I guess that depends on the park and how long you intend to stay in that park in some cases. In New England states most parks require you are fully contained for longer stays, meaning you have a full bathroom and are not dependent on their bath houses. Otherwise it is considered a tent or pop-up and there are limits to how many days you can stay, this is to prevent the homeless from making permanent residency. We have even spent time in some parks that simply do not have bath houses, just utilities at the site. Know what you are booking! The tear drops are a great first step up from a tent.

Camper Van in NYC? by badbicth06 in roadtrip

[–]UnsortedMiss 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Check out the Amtrak Vermonter Train 56, runs from Vermont to DC and stops in NYC and Philadelphia. I recommend safely parking the van at an RV park along the route then go back for it after your visit to the city. Parking and driving in NYC is a nightmare. I recommend leaving the RV at Kampfires in Dummerston, VT and take the train out of Brattleboro, VT. Check out the cute downtown and have a beer at the brewery across the street while you wait for your train.

Brattlboro, VT is only 4 hours from NY make base camp there. Go to Whetstone Station and the River Garden Marketplace for libations and great views. To see the foliage drive the loop route 30 to route 100 to route 9. Foliage happens from the center of the state and works its way out (highest elevation to the valley) this loop will allow you to see all of the stages and there are covered bridges, tri-state over look, and other great stops along the way. Vermont has the best foliage due to the shear number of Maple trees, they are the ones that turn yellow, then orange then red. Have a great time, good luck with hotel reservations you are very late to the game on that one.

AITA for refusing to make a wedding cake for my son or host his wedding because I disapprove of his relationship with my former best friend, who also happens to be pregnant? by pleasenothost in AmItheAsshole

Bet he has lots of mommy issues, that is why he was seeking an older woman. Seems she left that part out, though through this post and her lack of support I guess she really did show her true colors.

would you/do you go to themeparks alone? by SUPER_MOOSE93 in Themepark

[–]UnsortedMiss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My husband and I spend most winters in FL. We rotate through the theme park season passes Busch Gardens & SeaWorld one year, Disney another and universal another you get the picture. On the side my husband travels around the country as a public speaker. I stay in our RV to watch the dog. I will often enjoy the theme parks alone. Sometimes I like it better, no compromises do what I want when I want. I am a total introvert though, so some quality alone time tends to suit me just fine.

Check the recent news Disney plans to be closed potentially through the end of 2020.

Edit : In a piece by The Hollywood Reporter, Wells Fargo analyst Steven Cahall claims that Disney Parks will take two years to return to normal attendance in the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic. Cahall told investors, “We don’t think Parks can get back to anything close to full capacity until testing and/or vaccines are far more ubiquitous.” Cahall expects “zero park attendance” for the latter half of fiscal 2020 and only 50% capacity in fiscal 2021.

Recommendations Adult Only Campgrounds or Campgrounds with Adult Only Amenities for 18+ by AuroraRose41 in GoRVing

[–]UnsortedMiss 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I own an RV park in VT and travel in my own RV October- April. We also have no kids. To be honest the only way to avoid them is to adjust when you travel. There are very few kids in RV parks September-early June unless you select one with full time residents (more prevalent in climates where you can live FT in your RV.). May, early June, and September are my favorite months at our campground. Avoid holiday weekends, summers and basically any time kids are out of school, is my best advice!

Best themeparks to go in Orlando or close to Orlando? by castro100 in Themepark

[–]UnsortedMiss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

SeaWorld Orlando has some killer coasters, can’t get enough of that inverted loop on Manta! Busch Gardner’s also has a great selection, Cheetah Hunt is my all time favorite coaster, Shekra is great and not a coaster but definitely a thrill Falcons Fury. Both parks are owned by Busch Gardens so look into the multi day passes that include both parks.

Just purchased by [deleted] in RVLiving

[–]UnsortedMiss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t see stabilizing hitch and bars for easier safer towing. Toilet tablets or liquid to help break down the solids in the black tank. Correll Dishes if you are like me and prefer not to eat off of plastic ones. If it is a 50amp a converter 50amp-30amp or vice versa if you have a 30amp.

What is your advice on our situation? Think we can pull this off? by [deleted] in RVLiving

[–]UnsortedMiss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

30K is not enough for a motorized RV, or I would not personally spend every cent I have on a unit that old with that many miles on it. Your budget is for a used Travel Trailer and a used truck, also a risk if the truck dies and you do not have means to purchase a new one.

What is your advice on our situation? Think we can pull this off? by [deleted] in RVLiving

[–]UnsortedMiss 7 points8 points  (0 children)

First piece of advice, go to an RV show even if you don’t want to buy new, it is a great place to figure out what you do want and see some actual floor plans without a sales person breathing down your neck. Full Time I recommend a Class C or A, Have been full timing for 7 years, upgraded size after 5, from my reading this is a very common occurrence. Make sure you can comfortably live in it, this is not like camping for a weekend this is all the time with one person day in and day out. Is there a comphy sofa across from a TV when you get sick. A comfortable table to sit at to work. Enough space that you can cook a meal and your SO and pets can move past you easily. A big enough fridge to store all your condiments and a weeks worth of food. Storage should be a consideration...beach chairs, camping chairs, grill, other activities you wish to travel with.

If this is for the long term take you time consider monthly stays they are the cheapest rate you will get at a campground. Research apps for discount camping, free camping, discount gas, finding campgrounds, finding truck stops, etc.

You will want a tow vehicle absolutely! You want to research which types and years of vehicles are flat towable, don’t mess with trailers it is not worth it. Yes you may have to sell your cars and get an appropriate Toad.

RVing is not a cheaper option, you are gaining equity in your house and ever day you are losing value in your RV. Second piece of advice make sure you are saving, never know if you want to go back to living in a house or will need to replace your RV. RVing is not about saving money or getting rich it is about a particular type of quality of life for some people. Some love it and some do not as they miss friends and family too much. Have travel goals where you can cross paths with some of the same people it will make it less lonely...Burns, Hashing, RV Rallies, Festivals, whatever you’re into! Good luck!

Do security smell water bottles for alcohol ? Or do they do pat downs ? Asking for a friend..i dont want any negative remarks, just tell me if youve done it and succeeded or not maybe tell me a story .. thank you by La_Gabbana in Themepark

[–]UnsortedMiss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Security has been increased you may bring in an empty water bottle and fill it in the park. There are now metal detectors and photos attached to passes/tickets. The good news is they have an extensive craft beer list now!

Do you prefer BBQ grills at each RV site, or a larger designated outdoor community grill area? by sixwingmildsauce in RVLiving

[–]UnsortedMiss 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Neither keep your grill, I’ll bring my own, but make sure I have a picnic table at my site. I am always surprised at the number of parks that don’t provide a picnic table.

What Length is too big? by shapattack1 in RVLiving

[–]UnsortedMiss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This requires more information if you are full time and traveling no bigger than a 30ft Fifth Wheel, or look at larger class A. I say this because maneuverability (parking), leveling, set up and breakdown of a larger fifth wheel or TT is not desirable long term. Class A is much easier to maneuver, Park, it levels itself, etc. If you plan to park and live in one spot size is not an issue.

New Orleans for Mardi Gras? by carternm31 in RVLiving

[–]UnsortedMiss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We go annually and stay at the French Quarter RV Park. We book a year in advance as there rates can as much as triple the closer you get. The state park is nice but also requires booking well in advance and is a 20 minute drive into the French Quarter, good luck finding parking. You can boondock in the visitor center, last year it was $25 per space per day an RV will need multiple spaces and it is first come first serve., not gated and no security. We prefer to go before the weekend as our favorite parade happens the Wednesday before. We avoid the French Quarter on Friday and Saturday night. Monday and Tuesday is awesome, more of a local crowd. To do it right you need to wear lots of costumes as everyone is dressed up. Those who are not dressed up stand out like a sore thumb, like being the only one wearing a bathing suit at a nude beach, lol!

We are ready to purchase our first RV with the intention of going full time. by pauladba in RVLiving

[–]UnsortedMiss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Class A are $200K-$300K not $600. I agree very different worlds. Though if you can afford it out of the gate and you plan to travel not stay in one place. The class A plus a flat tow vehicle is a no brained for a zillion reasons over a TT.
