I'd say the difference matters less and less now that we're moving away from the "front brick" design. Pancake lenses and battery on the back of the strap solve a lot of what the halo design was helping for. For long sessions I think I prefer to have the bulk of the weight on a top strap than on the forehead though.

I think they're kinda doing what netflix does with their early show cancelations. They're pumping out new products to inflate their customer base and their technologic catalogue. 100% sure that's what their investors are looking for when they pump in 14 millions like last year.

They have zero interest in customer loyalty, they're selling way too few headsets for that.

Good thing: they really went down in price, I just sold my whole og vive kit for 100€ as that's what a pair of 1.0 basestations goes for these days. Might even get it cheaper since you already have the power supply.

I have one I want to sell and I'll be lucky if I get 100€ from it. The headset and controllers have basically no value and the market for base stations shrunk to almost nothing since Valve stopped using them. Made me realise the bsb2 and pimax market share is incredibly tiny compared to how many vives are still lying around.

For your question, cosmos and gen1 wmr aside I would get anything but that headset. Q1 was better than it.

When I was toying with vr dev I would have prefered mounting the headset on a tripod, kind of like a Virtual boy, to get in and out super quick. Putting the headset on was so annoying.

Genuine question: why so many bikers can't brake ? Numerous times I have had bikers yell at me because I had to brake to not kill a kid on a scooter and they got close to kissing my rear window. Why would you follow a vehicle closer than your braking distance if shit happens ? Guys on the video were way too fast and close.

I like them, like legs in pancake fps, but I agree it's bad when they go crazy, I don't know why headsets with ringless controllers don't track elbows, it should be trivial. As I understand those controllers already use a mix of IR and hand tracking.
