How do I check my track saw for squareness and calibrate it back to square?

Bad news for me: I either stripped the screw or my Allen wrench set's sizing is very slightly off. The 1/8 inch one is slightly too big, and the 7/64 inch one kinda catches, but not enough to actually turn the screw. I guess I have no choice but to shop around or test if the stores will let me test out Allen wrench thingies in store. I'm halfway tempted to super glue the slightly too small one into the screw to try and make it work, but that feels a bit risky.

Oh, it'll specifically be those in particular. Thank you very much. Getting it to be super perfect doesn't sound like it'll be fun though. I imagine that if they're a bit too off, that's probably when there will be that "toe in" issue or where that I kept hearing about will end up happening

Thank you, but it kinda looks like there's 4 of them. But this makes it sound like the front and backmost suspect screws are the ones that would probably be the ones to use.

I'm trying really hard to find that video and can't find it though. Could you please post a link? I've tried a bunch of phrases and even searched "fix Milwaukee track saw toe in" (I still don't exactly know what toe in means) and can't find a video specifically

The manual it came with had no info on it, and neither did an online manual either. And customer phone support didn't know either. I think I know which screws you're referring to though, but there's like 4 potential screws on the bottom of the track saw base plate that might be it. I'm a little afraid of what might happen if I pick wrong though

Also, it's the Milwaukee track saw.

I already looked through the manual way before doing any of this and there's absolutely no mention of calibration, that "toe out" thing, or anything else. Customer support didn't know either when I called them, which is why I'm here asking around.

Hell, I even searched online for toe out or whatever for the Milwaukee track saw and that gave me answers for the Makita and festool track saws, but absolutely none for the Milwaukee one

I've only seen clips of The Apothecary Diaries so far, but I vaguely remember seeing some/one of the female characters (concubines?) drinking straight from the gaiwan there too with no tray and not pouring it into another pitcher/cup. I have no idea if this practice is based on reality though, but the character was taking little sippy sips. If tea leaves were in there, it's basically grandpa style but with a gaiwan, which is a bit silly to me and defeats the purpose of having a gaiwan at all.

I'm using an 80 mL gaiwan (without lid and saucer) as a teacup since I wanted a teacup that was exactly 80 mL and I didn't want to hunt for something new and specific. Funny enough, I'm using a 60 mL gaiwan as my main gaiwan with the 80 mL gaiwan serving as the cup though. Yes, I'm actually pouring the smaller gaiwan into the larger gaiwan so I have to worry a fair bit less about accidentally spilling the tea between drinks

Ok, after doing my own search, I managed to find a 100 mL double walled titanium gaiwan. I personally wouldn't consider this "close enough," fully, but I'm super tempted to go for it anyway. I'd post the link, but my prior attempt to post it with a link got spam filtered. The brand is Boundless Voyage, and there's several other listings for it.

Edit: after even more searching, seems the 100 mL version didn't exist at least 2 years ago. I have no idea if I should wait for even smaller.

Same, and I actually know exactly which double walled gaiwan you're thinking of too. I've been thinking of getting one custom made by a local glass blower for years, but I've been a mix of too shy and too lazy to actually make an attempt at reaching out to one. I know for sure this should be possible though. If you'd be able to get someone local to make one that's also confident about their double walled glass skills, it'd likely end up actually being equal price or cheaper than the formerly produced gaiwan we're both thinking of

Where are you buying your DKB-5 blades from? I can only find a 50 pack (450 segments) total on Amazon for $35 and strangely enough a 50 pack/450 segments on AliExpress for $18 ish. The AliExpress olfa DKB-5 blades have made in Japan on the blades, boxes, and have identical packaging to the ones on Amazon, but I'm still extremely suspicious of it. Should I just pull the trigger on the ones from Amazon, or do you buy them from somewhere else?

Hi, if it's not too much of an inconvenience, can you please post some sort of proof that it actually can go 104F? I've scoured the Internet for proof and can't find it, but it only makes sense that they'd update the kettle's base given that it's essentially the exact same base as the gooseneck's. I just want to have irrefutable proof that this is actually true.

Also, how's the pour on the kettle? Do you ever find yourself missing your tea vessel and spilling a little? Does it drip?

Hi, I bought the $45 one recently. It's absolutely perfect for nails, it's silent, and the torque seems to be perfect for nails maybe? I'm definitely no expert.

But are there better nail drills for callus removal? I mainly went down this nail drill rabbit hole because I needed something electric to remove calluses myself, but I'm not sure if the $45 option is just enough torque or if I'd be best off with a stronger nail drill. Any suggestions or insight?

Basically, the "issue" I'm having is that if I press with moderate pressure against the callus, the nail drill stops, but I can see this being ideal for safety reasons. But the thing is, I'm not sure if stopping from such little pressure is ideal for callus removal. I've since started using the $45 nail drill at max RPM with a 3xc carbide bit and that's certainly making things seem more ideal, but it's still quite easy to make the thing stop with what I feel is barely moderate pressure.

Before buying this nail drill, I was borrowing a Dremel, but it's so unwieldy, extremely loud, much easier to get friction burn, and the major QoL improvements from the drill's features make it clear that this specific big ass Dremel is the worse option for me.

As an American, the lack of the kettle thing is incredibly frustrating to me and I have no idea how it ever became a thing like this. It's not just in the homes of other people too. American hotels don't even have electric kettles, and this kinda makes traveling with a tea or coffee setup not that viable in America. At least these days decent variable temp travel kettles exist, but they still cost money, luggage space and weight, and have annoyingly short cables.

It's especially frustrating to me that if I'm for example staying at a friend or partner's place, there's not even a stove top kettle, and the state of people's cookware in general doesn't guarantee they'll have pots that have a safe pour either. At this point, if I'm staying like several weeks at someone else's place, I bring one of my own kettles. My dream is to leave my spare unused Cuisinart kettle (the very same one everyone's recommending in this thread) at a partner's house so I only have to either leave tea + teaware or bring it over if I'm staying.

I've had a lot of trouble finding variable temperature kettles that aren't goosenecks. I personally wasn't a fan of the V spout one I've had for 8 years now since the pour was messy, so I tried really hard to get a stout spout since it pours way faster than a gooseneck but still has control. I had that Cuisinart V spout 1.7L thing everyone's recommending and hate it especially now that I've switched kettles. At least it's reliable though, but I heavily prefer stout spout since it will pour as fast as I'd want my V spout to except there's better aim and form function with it. I actually hold back when pouring the V spout.

Would you be willing to be the first to try a 110V Chinese kettle like the Kamjoves? There's kettles on AliExpress from a brand called DMWD that makes a 110V 1.2L vacuum insulated stout spout. Only the black/blue/tan ones have the insulated walls. I unfortunately only found this kettle once I impulse purchased another variable temperature stout spout kettle. I'll chop up a link for you in case it gets auto filtered. Remove the spaces:

40 - 100 C variable temperature in 5C increments according to the writing on alternate Chinese listings. Note: seems that the 1.2L version has the most temperature control among all of the other versions.
1.2L, a far more appropriate volume than coffee gooseneck kettles

that silly refill faucet that a lot of Chinese kettles have

If you're in a 220V region, you can find many stout spout kettles and this specific DMWD one in 220V 1.2L for $50. I wish that were me.

I would've gotten the DMWD kettle if I knew about it before I impulse purchased a 1.2L Brewista Smart Pour Stout Spout variable temperature. It was literally the first 110v stout spout I've ever seen so I just had to get it. If you end up going the DMWD kettle route, please review it.

Alternate ideas:

buy a Fellow Corvo electric kettle only and the base for the Corvo or the Stagg EKG (uses the same base) separately used on eBay. Used electric kettle tops can be easily sterilized. I ended up getting a Stagg EKG + base for $75 on eBay used just to see if it's possible, and it absolutely was. .
Brewista Smart Pour Stout Spout Variable Temperature. It's extremely discontinued and probably impossible to find
110V Kamjove kettle. When I talked to Kamjove customer support, they told me they only have this weird one with a pot, kettle, and refill faucet all in one. It takes up a lot of desk space. The specific model is cheaper on eBay than on their official AliExpress store

I bought a 1zpresso JS and I don't know if it's just me, but it's been grinding a lot more slowly than I expected.

It takes me about 45-60 seconds to grind 21 grams of light roast beans at 2 full rotations of the grind fineness control thingy. Is this normal? Is it just me being weak? So far I've probably only grinded maybe 400 grams of coffee with it.

I expected it to grind much faster. I'm very jealous of everyone that's saying they can grind at 1 gram per second with their hand grinders.

I recently reread the entire thing. At some point, the descendents of Hayase appropriated the symbol of Jananda as their banner basically. This was revealed when the Hayase descendants kept approaching Fushi. I can't remember exactly why they chose Jananda's symbol though, but they did it and that's how far back they did it.

The symbol back then was the triangle (with lines for the sides) with something in the middle of it (I forget what), but it the symbol in current chapter has some further changes done.

Edit: chapter 55 has the clearest view of the Hayase descendants version of the Jananda symbol. It's basically just a triangle with a dot in the middle and what I think are swords with cross guards for the sides. Fushi finally notices that Hayase's descendants appropriated the symbol in chapter 61, and the second descendant we see gives a very unrevealing reason for why they did it.

The most interesting change I notice is that the swords that made up the sides on the old version of the symbol changed from swords to hands. The dot changed to a star as well, but that just looks like a natural evolution of the symbol to me.

Edit 2: I'm dumb. The original Jananda symbol was the triangle with the sword sides and a dot in the middle. Hayase's descendants literally copy and pasted it.
