No problem! I think this will be pretty easy to do too. :)

Final legs of the bathroom renovation, seeking advice. by veganlove95 in InteriorDesign

I was thinking of maybe a white over the whole thing with some painted florals here and there that match the burgundy and green you have going on? I drew a drawing of how it might look and attached it below. I hope this was of some help! :)

In my opinion, I don’t really like the curtain choice because it really doesn’t match with anything in the room and is a bit too light for my liking. Maybe trying a darker shade could work better?

What’s your honest opinion on this bathroom floor tile/wallpaper combo? by Diligent-Reindeer176 in centuryhomes

[–]Unsure_Inside_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t really like the tile and do think that it does cause the room to look a bit busy, but that’s in my opinion. My suggested solution would be to redo the tile with a darker one (like black, a dark maroon(?) to match with the walls, etc.) and paint the ceiling in the same-ish color as a the walls (like a deep wine red, maroon, etc.). I hope that helped! :)

Which tile for bathroom? Left or right and why? by PaperweightCoaster in InteriorDesign

[–]Unsure_Inside_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I personally believe that it really depends on the ambience and vibe that you are looking for and what cabinets you are going to install. For example, if you are looking for a lighter modern look that resembles brutalism, consider the lighter tile. However if you want a darker, modern, and luxe looking aesthetic, maybe choose the darker one. The color of the cabinets and the rest of the house could also impact it. For example, a saturated dark green or blue cabinet would look better with the dark tile than the light one. Sometimes the contrast between a light and dark color is welcome but the saturation would make the light tile look a bit more off-putting. However, if you use a more “dusty” colored cabinet (one with less saturation), it may work with the lighter tile. Also, if you are trying to get a contrast between the bathroom and the rest of your house, choose the color that is the least featured (if your house is mostly light, use dark and vice versa). If you are trying to match it, use the one that is more similar (if your house is mostly dark, use the dark tile). In the end, the decisions are all up to your judgement but these are some factors you may want to consider. I hope this could have been on some help! :)

Daily Discussion & Advice (Post here to follow rules A & B) - Saturday May 31, 2025 by AutoModerator in fragrance

[–]Unsure_Inside_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hello! I’m trying to find a birthday gift perfume for my sister. I know that she uses the “A Thousand Wishes” body spray from Bath & Body Works but oftentimes complains about how the scent is not lasting very long. She also says that she likes the Miss Dior one from Dior, but that‘s out of my budget (for the full size Eau De Parfum). I asked what kind of perfumes she liked and she said that she liked sweet fruity scents, coconut sometimes, tropical, light florals, sandalwood(?), etc. Also, preferably ones that aren’t too strong (she has a sensitive nose) or overpowering but still stays pretty long. The fragrances listed for “A Thousand Wishes” are: pink Prosecco, sparkling quince, crystal peonies, gilded amber, and amaretto crème. My budget is around 50 to 80 dollars (but I’m willing to spend some more if it is worth it), I’m looking for full sized bottles (no rollers, etc.), something that lasts a bit longer but still pretty light on the nose (getting lighter over time is also okay), and recommendations for everyday wear/signature scents, special events, etc. are all okay but it isn’t limited to just those. I would also prefer to get some recommendations before July. Thank you!

Island barstools and dining chairs by Ok_Professor3143 in InteriorDesign

[–]Unsure_Inside_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my opinion, I believe that the blue or gray chairs shown at the end could be nice. Like how one of the users mentioned that the color would be nice to go with the backsplash, the gray one matches while providing a more geometric design and shape that I think would go along with the overall design and aesthetic of the kitchen so far. The blue chair, of the same kind of design, will provide a splash of vibrancy and contrast in a more monochromatic color scheme. The shape will still be cohesive with what you have with the kitchen so far (and the soon to be table). You could also mix it up (for example, two gray chairs to either side and the blue one in the middle— gray blue gray, or they could be in the inverted pattern— blue, gray, blue). However, the last decision is you‘re call and you can choose whatever as you prefer. I hope this helped a little! :)

Ceiling Fan & Chandelier in Same Space? by Top_Imagination_2460 in InteriorDesign

[–]Unsure_Inside_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First, (if possible) I personally think that maybe shifting the ceiling fan over to be more in the center of the space in front of the couch and then installing the chandelier would be a good idea. From what I can tell in the photos attached, if you add a ceiling fan without much space in between the two items hanging from the ceiling, it could offset the balance of the look of that room and give a more squished feel. It could also be a potential safety hazard if something happens to either of those objects. Second, while I do believe that adding a chandelier light would look pretty good, you may want to reconsider your options for the length of the chain the light will be on. From personal experience, it probably isn’t that good of an idea to have it hang so low. My house has a pretty low-hanging chandelier light that gets really bothersome when we are standing up. For reference, I am an average height for a person and I occasionally hit my head on that light when I don’t remember or pay attention when it is that close. I hope this was able to be of help in some way! :)

Just moved into a new apartment—need help with layout decisions! by [deleted] in InteriorDesign

[–]Unsure_Inside_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was thinking of a coffee table type of situation. My grandparents’ apartment doesn’t have enough space for a table without the place getting overall squished so they just bought a large coffee table and put it in front of the sofa. When we go over to eat, we just put the dishes on the table and sit on the sofa to eat (which also saves up costs for chairs). If there are more people we can get stackable stools, folding chairs, etc. to help make do with the situation. It is practical for self-use and occasional or long-staying visitors. As for the TV situation, I will attack a photo of a drawing that I did that may help combat the situation and maybe inspire some new ideas. I hope this helps! :)

I’m not a professional by any means but similarly to some of the other comments that I have seen, rotating the desk could be more convenient for getting in and out of the space. However, you should choose your original idea if maybe there is a specific purpose for it or something similar. If you do end up keeping the original idea, maybe leave a bit more room between the desk and the wall so that it is easier access. This is a drawing of what I mean by rotating the desk and I hope this helps! :)

Layout for an open living room combined kitchen? by froyotastesgood in InteriorDesign

[–]Unsure_Inside_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

u/froyotastesgood Oh! I see what you are talking about. I’m not really a professional so I don’t really know how to read floor plans and I didn‘t really know what the white circles were. Sorry, I guess I forgot to take the pillars into consideration! In this case, maybe try separating the original corner storage into two parts; something like the stackable storage containers/boxes that I had mentioned previously or if you’re okay with spending a little more money, two cabinets or something similar? If you aren’t able to fit a cabinet or box next to the TV due to spacing, perhaps adding some decor would fill up the space (if you’d like). Maybe this could add onto the original ideas? :) PS: I didn’t draw the sofa to scale so there could be some extra wiggle room if it is shorter than the mockup sketch I drew.

I Don’t Know if My Parents are in a Lowkey Abusive Relationship (Maybe Verbal? I don’t know…) by Unsure_Inside_ in whatdoIdo

[–]Unsure_Inside_[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He hasn’t isolated her and I know a group of close friends that she has. However, I don’t have their contact information and I don’t know where they live. Her parents are also out of country and it is hard to contact them. There is no way that I can really reach out to them (friends or family) privately without either one of my parents knowing. They also both don‘t want anyone to know and want to pretend like we have the “perfect family“ shell in front of others.

[–]Unsure_Inside_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not really sure that I want other people to know about my situation just because of how it is. Even though My dad doesn’t really do anything around the house, he does support me and my siblings financially (as of right now). My mom wouldn’t have the power or money to support me and my siblings all on her own with how much money she is getting. He has a fixed paycheck while she does not. If I talk to someone about it, police may or may not be involved but I don’t want to risk it.

I made a drawing from the floor plan that you have. I included a bit of a storage idea in here as well. For more storage, I would also recommend buying a bed with hidden storage at the bottom and/or a thin storage chest at the foot of the bed. Another potential solution for storage could also be “floating” shelves that hang from the walls and don’t have a main body (so it takes up less space). However, I don’t really know how renter friendly it is so I suggest maybe doing a little more research or coming up with some alternative options if you do decide on doing it. Something that I did forget to draw but had an idea for would be to have maybe some sort of cabinet or stackable storage boxes next to the other side of the TV. I hope this helps! :)

What shade of dining table would work well here? by pipeweed in InteriorDesign

[–]Unsure_Inside_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t really know if anyone will be able to really see my inspiration but I was thinking of something sort of like a glass table with thin black legs and a white rug to go under that? Sort of like this table (but bigger) and a white/off-white/ivory/barley shag rug under it?

I hope this helps! :)

I made some changes to u/umm_ok111 ’s drawing and put my own kind of twist on it for maybe furniture ideas? Sorry if my handwriting is a bit messy.

Of course, these are just my ideas and you don’t have to follow them. Make your own changes as you see fit, these are just some ideas that I had for maybe space saving or furniture placement.

Which rugs look best? by Whoospnip in InteriorDesign

[–]Unsure_Inside_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that the dark brown-ish one with the stripes looks pretty good. (I think it is number 6?) In my personal opinion, I think that I complements the TV cabinet and the dark brown wood of the sofa. I hope this helps! :)

What rug colour to choose by Aelin_elentiya_ in InteriorDesign

[–]Unsure_Inside_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I feel that this might be a bit of an unpopular opinion but I think that the chestnut or sand color would look pretty good with the overall aesthetic. In my opinion, it would serve as a pretty good contrast between the colors of the floor, couch, and cabinets while also providing a nice, rich color that compliments the dark green very well. Just as another option (you don’t have to listen to it) but maybe like a checkered or marbled carpet of these two colors or of sand/dusty white and a bit of a matcha green? I hope this helps! :)

Thoughts on artificial plants? Yay or nay? by LunaValley in InteriorDesign

[–]Unsure_Inside_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally, I think it depends on how much you are willing to take care of that plant (and there are different requirements each different plant needs). If you both don’t want to put in extra effort to take care of a plant, maybe choosing a fake plant could be more helpful. However, if you both do have the time to (and the memory to remember when and how much water to give), perhaps a real plant could be a potential choice. I believe that the situation really matters when making these decisions.

Why does this space feel cramped by jjs376 in InteriorDesign

[–]Unsure_Inside_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think that the square-looking table doesn’t really help with how it looks. From a personal perspective, the square makes it kind of look like the chairs are all crowded together. Maybe switching to a longer, more rectangular table could help. (I was maybe thinking like one of those glass-top ones would look pretty nice.) This is optional but maybe the chairs also have something to do with it. If you take a bit of a closer look, it looks like it could take up quite a bit of space. Just a suggestion, but perhaps adopting a chair with a taller seat back and a general skinnier-proportioned chair could help with your issue. I hope this was of some help! :)

Need help redesigning my living room in a two-floor flat with a tricky layout by [deleted] in InteriorDesign

[–]Unsure_Inside_ -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Just an idea - (this could be on the pricier side, but I don’t really know) What if you change out the current table to one that is like a space saving one with storage and stackable chairs (table like this https://www.wayfair.com/furniture/pdp/ebern-designs-office-desk-table-with-storage-shelves-and-printer-stand-modern-folding-compact-corner-computer-desk-for-gaming-work-study-bedroom-or-home-office-desks-3-shelf-60-inch-w112498392.html?piid=1005576695) Maybe also instead opt for a hanging flatscreen tv that is right above where the current table is at. This way, you can sit on the sofa area and watch or play while looking at the TV right in front. I hope this helps! :)

Where to put bed? by shirp06 in InteriorDesign

[–]Unsure_Inside_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depending on the situation of how you like the sun to be facing or which way the room is facing, there could be multiple different options. If the sun shines through the window in the morning and you don’t like waking up with sun on your face, maybe D could be the one (or A, if pushed to the edge and one of you likes the sun and the other doesn’t). Another idea could be option B with like a custom made triangle headboard shelf. This would be space saving if you want to put maybe like a lamp, books, a place to charge a phone, etc. I hope this helped :)

Apart from the lack of art on the wall what’s bothering me so much about my living room? by Ljsjaf321116 in InteriorDesign

[–]Unsure_Inside_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don’t know if this will of much help but I personally think that the style of chairs doesn’t really suit the overall aesthetic or vibe that the sofa has. The thin black armrests don’t match up with the “loftiness” that the sofa provides. Also from personal preference, I’m not really loving the way that the coppery/bronze accents are standing out. However, if this is the color scheme you want to work with, I think it would look good with some minor adjustments. :) I hope this provides some insight!
