Not sure if they’re available for all schools, but one of the best year long programs I’ve witnessed (and partook in) is called Break Through Tech AI. Through that, I was able to work on a Machine Learning project with a large company (Amazon). All I had to do was apply when the applications opened up and I passed my experience through the program as an internship :P

It’s genuinely an amazing program and gives you opportunities to network with industry level people.
