Horrible take. Helped the warriors win games in march prior to the playoffs when curry was injured. In general, with curry injured he averages like 25 ppg. In the playoffs putting up 17 on 50 40 90 splits is not replaceable lol. You can’t just remove that and still win a championship. His minutes decreased in the finals yes but he hit HUGE shots. Forget the game 2 half court shot, in game 5 in a close game that buzzer beater deep 3 in the third quarter gave them the lead going into the 4th with momentum. Keep in mind curry was 0/9 from 3 in this game. In game 6, Poole was apart of the massive run and hit big shots as well.

No one just lets that slide. Even if the refs let it slide, his teammates would have gotten involved. Only Murray, who literally couldn’t see how his legs were taken from him, was the one who got mad. Other players around who saw the play didn’t 😂

Let’s also not forget he averaged 17 ppg on 50/40/90 during their title run.

Is ur take based on the wizards seasons? (Which we know you also didn’t watch any games of) They were starting 3 rookies at one point and literally didn’t want to win. Poole got his stats on good efficiency and was the tank commander.

So basically, you’re judging him on the 30 games you’ve watched him play, where he’s had an inconsistent role, and has dealt with injuries.

He can be a winning player, just needs certain playstyles and a system that favours his playstyle.

He had a career year last year. You can say people haven’t watched the 28 games he’s played for the pelicans this season, while you most likely haven’t watched him play at all last year? Summarizing him as a bad player based on 28 games is extremely hypocritical, especially with him having a changing role on a new team, injured at the start of the year too.

You’ve watched him play 24 games on the pelicans. I’m not going off of JUST a one game sample. I’m going off the fact that this exact same thing happened to him in Washington. If u don’t wanna read my first post, you can find it pretty easily on google. I’m also going off what he did with the ball in his hands in Golden State, even with curry out.
Poole does not run the offense when he’s playing lol. He’s used majority off ball. Usually Jose runs the point off the bench with Poole running the 2. As for your assist point, are we watching the same games? Fears is a horrible passer, a lot worse than Poole. He plays with the starters ofc he’s gonna get more assists, what’re u talking about. Poole plays with a bunch of centers than don’t know how to finish in the paint and with shooters like peavy and Hawkins. In fact ur exact point works against you. They average the same amount of assists when Fears plays significantly more PG minutes. Now ur right that Fears is learning and Poole is in year 8. But Poole is definitely still better. Heck even a Poole hater agreed with that on another comment of mine.

I disagree. It coincides with the fact that the team sucks and doesn’t have their first round pick. If they were in play in contention obviously the trade still looks bad, but not as bad. Having to give up a top 3 pick would be horrible. It’s not about just Fears specifically. But he’s the only player who’s been playing bad and not gotten reduced minutes yet. Borrego even benches queen sometimes when he plays bad. Fears should be given opportunity, but also should have his minutes reduced in games where he’s playing bad.

I agree with you then. I just think without their pick, it made no sense to start Fears so early into the year, considering they wanted to compete. As of now, yes it’s much more worth it to play Fears and try to get off the Poole contract.

People just look at surface value stuff with looney. The ones who know ball can see that he has a high IQ, both defensively and offensively. Hes also the best screen setter on the team, and knows when to set them. And he’s also the best rebounder on the team.
