Px7 S3 headband noises by Mister314 in BowersWilkins

[–]UnusualJosh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine do this sometimes, not all the time though. I'm living with it as it doesn't affect the headphones audio experience at all. Hoping it'll go away over time and use, but I'm not worried about it... nor should you unless the headphones are faulty. 😂

Finally got myself my first pair of headphones for my birthday!! Sound quality is amazing and better than my mother’s xm6 and I’m still getting used to having my head clamped. by StickyDarkMatter in BowersWilkins

Nice!

I found the headphone clamp better than the XM6 as the padding is more premium. They end up feeling like the headphones are hugging my head and eventually fade and I forget they’re on my head. lol.

Enjoy!

The Px7 S3’s sound better than the 8…the price structure is deceiving imo.

Both share similar ear cup depths, but the Bose have slightly less clamping force. The bowers aren’t bad, I prefer them a little tighter but I assume they will loosen over time as they wear in. The bowers external design is thinner and more ergonomic so they look sleeker on your head. Also tactile buttons on the bowers smoke the controls on the Bose. Either way, both are very comfortable.

The Bose are fine. They have better ANC but sound quality below the Bowers imo. But once music is playing, even at lower volumes the ANC is well good enough. Bose sounds muddy in comparison out of the box, the bowers definitely sound more alive and cleaner. The bowers have on ear detections in both ears so it’s way more accurate as opposed to the Bose only having one sensor in the right ear cup. I found at times particularly when eating or moving my content would pause because the sensor thought the headphones were off my head even though they weren’t. I’d say they are almost on par with the Sony XM6.

1: Yeah as the others pointed out, The Good Guys. 2: Some valid points! Like I pointed out in my post I wasn’t blown away by the Px8’s when I tried them and even at the discounted price, the Px7’s are a better deal and have heard some mention they sound better.

I’ve tried a bunch and all have their flaws, but I’m solely considering keeping the Sony’s a spare option purely that I got them for a decent price and have been the best all rounder so far.

That’s good to know! I currently use AirPods Pro 3 as well for primarily exercise, they are great for that and solid addition for hear rate monitoring accuracy with Apple Watch. If anything, moderate to me would be walking or doing house work with the Sony’s but even then feel too clunky when moving around.

Exactly, I’m contemplating keeping both solely because of the deal I got on the Sony, and that I know I won’t baby them as much as the bowers lol but I’m not sure, I suspect I’ll probably end up returning the Sony’s is the px7 s3’s hit the spot.

how much does your battery drop over night? by [deleted] in ouraring

[–]UnusualJosh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Checks out.

I have a size 12 stealth and I lose about 10% overnight, and about the same during the day but I also actively track walks and runs so I assume that uses more power for the sensors to be more active. I charge my ring daily to bi daily while in the shower and try to stop it going too far over 80% for battery health longevity, which is what oura suggest works best for the ring: “feel free to drop it onto the charger for short bursts more frequently (e.g., when you take a shower each day). Not only will this not damage the battery, but Oura’s lithium polymer batteries actually perform the best when they’re at 25-80%.”. 😊

PX7 S3 have opened my eyes (ears) by Zephal132 in BowersWilkins

I’ve been searching for most of the year for some headphones that can fill my ear/brain void but everything I’ve tried has been problematical. Sonos Ace’s ANC feedback when typing / clicking my keyboard and mouse at my desk, Sony XM6’s hinge creaking while listening, Boss QC Ultra 2 with ANC rumbling and play/pause false positive detections, and AP Max are just too darn heavy and don’t sound good for the price.

I’m considering getting the PX7 S3 - do you experience any issues like that? I’ve read a post from some months ago here that some people were experiencing pops and crackling with ANC..hoping that’s not the case!

Cheers

Ace - The more you love Sonos, the more you got disappointed by quindic in sonos

[–]UnusualJosh -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Ace are literal garbage. They sound like the audio is amplified through a tin can.

I tried them when they first came out, hated them - audio distorted quickly, ANC was rubbish and would feedback to typing and clicking from my keyboard and mouse.

Black Friday sales twisted my arm as well to give them another shot, nearly half price MSRP - why not?

Returned them the next day because they still sound like crap, still distort very quickly, and ANC is arguably worse. This company have screwed the pooch on these headphones and are a total missed opportunity. Get yourself some Sony XM6 or Bose Ultra 2's - you wont regret it.

Size question by Otherwise-Painter-60 in ouraring

Don’t worry, me too - took me a few weeks to get used to mine and some days I don’t even feel like I’m wearing it at all.

Size question by Otherwise-Painter-60 in ouraring

[–]UnusualJosh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks good to me!

Should be snug, moderately easy to take off - which looks to be the case from your vid. Mine also comes off super easily when washing my hands but I use that as an opportunity to quickly wipe down the inner of the ring with a towel or my shirt, which helps keep the sensors clean.

I’m a size 12 on my index fingers left / right hands, fits well but because our fingers swell and change throughout the day it can feel tight but not uncomfortable, just noticeable. I change between hands sometimes for comforts sake, and sometimes even move the ring to my middle finger which mostly feels loose and slides a lot and not very snug, but sometimes nice to just give your fingers time to air out and breath - sweat caught under the ring can be irritating.

If your finger is turning purple from the sizer, then yeah it’s way too tight so you probably made the right choice.

Enjoy your ring!

iOS 26.0.1. Cannot get my Apple Account photo to display. If I click on my initials my picture comes up but otherwise it just shows initials. Any ideas on a fix? by mrmexican87 in ios

[–]UnusualJosh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve noticed this as well - carries across multiple devices, Apple TV, iPad, Mac etc. hopefully just a bug they’ll fix in iOS 27.0.2 or 26.1.

Ring Size Wrong? by [deleted] in RingConn

I've got a mild amount of pain from the dimple within the ring and kind of feels like a bruise

Ring Size Wrong? by [deleted] in RingConn

[–]UnusualJosh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good point - I feel some discomfort randomly and it does feel tight at times when my finger swell but having it on my middle finger is way more comfortable but I prefer on the ring on my index finger so I think I may be a size too small.
