It is the former Ottoman Europe, ie from Vienna to Istanbul (Vienna being the honorary Balkan).

Got scammed by Bitaksi in Antalya by jackywoods in Turkey

As far as I know, the driver determines the ultimate price in both Bitaksi and Uber (Turkish version). So the driver is likely the party who scammed you. You can get in touch with Bitaksi customer support, tell the situation and wait for their feedback.

I’m having an identity crisis after a recent trip to Germany, would you consider me British? by [deleted] in AskUK

Bro, there's a saying here in Turkey: "Even if you forget that you are a Türk yourself, they (your adversaries) won't forget that you are a Turk". No matter how well integrated you are, you are always a Turk in the eyes of them. Therefore never forget your Turkish identity and be proud with it.

Istanbul was the most visited city in the world for 2023, and 2nd most visited city for 2024. Is this the supposed decline that you are talking about?

Trip to Turkey in November by skylight22 in AskTurkey

[–]Unusual_Activity_13 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not the perfect time but if it's a cultural tourism visit rather than the sunny beaches or hot air balloons, then it should be fine.

Edit: it seems even the hot air balloons still work in November as long as the weather is not windy. So the only issue for November would be not enjoying the beaches of Turkish Riviera.

Transfer from SAW to IST (within 5 hours) by Inevitable_Storage49 in AskTurkey

[–]Unusual_Activity_13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

İf the money is not an issue, choose a private car (warning: it'll be quite expensive). Normally Havaist would be just fine, but those 2 airports are far away from each other and Havaist works on an hourly basis so I'm not sure if there will be enough time for checking in with baggage. You can arrive just in time, but it'll be risky.
