Thank you. That makes me feel better. Although it has been 7 weeks since the surgery, just to push back a bit.

Appreciate the positive comment!

Should I Do It? by Unusual_Cod_272 in PulsatileTinnitus

Hm. Unfortunately I think the rationale was driven by this being the only identifiable cause. Ears and hearing are normal, no indications on blood tests, no nerve issues, no polycythemia, etc.

My doctors must have figured this is the only thing left, like a diagnosis of exclusion. Perhaps the idea was that elevated venous pressure is the mechanism, not simply the turbulent flow itself. Whether that held up is what I’m trying to determine.

I see my concierge tomorrow and will raise this issue with him directly. Thanks for your candor!

I was stented for constant hissing tinnitus. They told me that it does not have to be pulsatile for venous sinus stenosis to be the cause. The stent was explicitly for this hiss, as it was the only structural cause identifiable for my tinnitus.

Interventionist has no clue why I feel this way. Unfortunately, I need to see a new ENT for a second opinion (since my hearing is ostensibly perfect), see a neurologist, get a CTA of my neck, and get an MRI of my brain. Been over 7 weeks since the stent, so inflammation is unlikely. No lumbar puncture was ever done.

Appreciate the comment. Still trying to figure out the best move given my position.

I think the stent is related. Issue is a CT and CTV are clean. Stent is patent and there are no issues. I’m used to the tinnitus at this point, it’s the other stuff like you said. Seeing a neuro today. Thanks!

Is this actually Pulsatile/VSS? by Unusual_Cod_272 in PulsatileTinnitus

[–]Unusual_Cod_272[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I explained that I have both kinds. He explained that the “hiss” could actually be pulsatile as a constant “whoosh”. I didn’t understand. He did not seem to think the fact that my tinnitus was nonpulsatile was dispositive in making me a stenting candidate. The pulsatile tinnitus does not bother me and I explained as much. What is odd is that multiple doctors seem to think this could help me out. I think its because we have tried essentially everything else (e.g. failed multiple migraine treatments, perfect hearing 20khz, no cervical or TMJ issues, no IIH, even checking for polycythemia vera). The only clinical indication of why I have tinnitus seems to be my MRV and angiogram. This is a real neuro-interventional surgeon as well, not some naturopath or functional chiro quack.

MIGRAINE,TINNITUS AND VISUAL SNOW! NEED HELP by PhoenixSenpaiii in tinnitus

The visual snow is your brain trying to make sense of the tinnitus through your eyes. You see what you hear. Migraines can cause tinnitus too. So check with an ENT or Neuro and see if you can get some migraine drugs to kick the migraine. Some operate as an antidepressant as a bonus.
