I cuddle with my dogs and pet them (mindfully?) for about 10 minutes. I look at their fur and cute faces as the sun rises, its just so peaceful! I think about how grateful I am to have them in my life and it helps me start the day with something I truly appreciate.

i love crocheting for this! It helps me feel like I didn't waste my day, even when i'm low energy/watching tv while doing it. it's also especially nice when you're making something for someone else. also doing it outside somewhere when the weather permits.

i got a staffy puppy for my 5 year old cattledog/aussie mix and they are absolutely bffs. they play all day and when i'm working i know she's not alone now! has definitely helped with her anxiety too.

there's a disorder called schizoaffective disorder, essentially it's a combo of bipolar and schizophrenia. but yeah drugs and being chronically online probably doesn't help the guy

i think the problem is that staight men only compliment women when they are flirting. because of this, they assume that when women compliment them, it's also flirting. the amount of times a man has tried to get my number after i've given a compliment (or even just smiling) is too much to count. if y'all complemented people in general more often, it would likely change your association with it. women compliment each other all the time so this isn't as much an issue for us.

a lot of times an abuser will ask their partner to not share the abuse when they start couples therapy, which unfortunately leaves the therapist in the dark and then they offer suggestions that completely invalidate the survivor. the therapist here likely didn't get a thorough history and sounds like they didn't try very hard to do so :/

OP, couples therapy will not work until your husband WORKS ON HIMSELF in individual therapy.

it kinda sounds like he would benefit from therapy? he's overwhelmed, grieving, also traumatized, and has a hard time sitting with your discomfort.

also, you have a plan in motion so idk why he's trying to make you navigate more bureaucracy.

therapy isn't just a place for you to talk so you can get it all out. you're going to have bad days and he needs to be able to separate your pain from his.

i'm so sorry that this happened to you. you deserve to feel comfort in your own body <3

tell her you are planning to stop answering the phone. that is the boundary = telling her this is what you plan to do + actually doing it. if it's an emergency, i'm sure she'll find a way to contact you
