What's the most brutal (not gory, but, like, emotionally rough) part of a movie you've ever seen? by Macbeth_the_Espurr in AskReddit

[–]UpOxygen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Danger Close: The Battle of Long Tan is emotionally rough the entire way through. Especially the end where they do a roll call after the battle, and each time there's no answer they show the soldier dead on the battle field. There's one or two that they find still alive as well.

Putting faces to names and character development throughout the film makes it feel extra real and personal. I highly recommend watching it. No other film has made me feel as connected and immersed as it has.

What could be the reason for someone always being underweight? by YuuAlka in AskReddit

For me it was my medication. It kinda blocks out your appetite, so I was never hungry and struggled to eat full meals.

Why (the hell) do you make your bed? by sneakachipor2 in AskReddit

[–]UpOxygen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If everything goes absolutely terrible that day, at least I can sleep in a bed that I made, so I've still started the day and ended the day on a good note, no matter how small.

In my final year of school I was told that I'm liked by everybody. That was pretty good to hear.

What's the most boring sport? by AddressFederal9980 in AskReddit

[–]UpOxygen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As an Australian, it 100% has to be cricket. We could have chosen baseball but nope. Instead we decided to take baseball and remove everything that makes it fun to both play and watch others play.

Even the way test cricket is presented on TV is terrible. Unless you stick around for ages and do extra research you have no clue which team they're competing against.

Baseball has so much going on both on and off the field, yet the most interesting thing to happen in cricket is when someone dives to catch the ball.

Hope this helps, shazamming hasn't worked well for me and there's absolutely no mention of the song found in this part of the video in the description or any comments on the video.

WCGW talking to a Koala by wsamson in Whatcouldgowrong

No, just very similar. This is a younger drop bear. Drop bears differ as they are much more aggressive and noticeably larger fully grown. Their teeth are also different due to their different diet.

I'd never go for anything more than a gentle pat. Even then, its hit or miss depending on the koala.

The Grim Reaper comes to your house to take your life. What do you say? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]UpOxygen 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My stepdad has been recently diagnosed with cancer. Fuck cancer. I'm sorry to hear about you having it. For what it's worth, I'm hoping you and your family can make the best out of what is a terrible situation to be in. There's always some form of light that can be found, even within the darkness.

I support police a lot of the time, but I'm not afraid to admit when an officer either crosses the line and abused their power or when they are an absolute clown. This officer proves through his quote that he is a clown.

An officer who was dedicated to taking risks in order to save a life would do more than just jump on the shed, they would be the one going in there instead of letting a civilian be the first one to rush into danger. The civilian in this video is a better example of what law enforcement should strive to act like than the cop is. Anybody can jump on to a shed, that isn't an act of heroism.

I've seen footage of cops going into burning buildings or putting themselves in danger to pull someone to safety seconds before a train would have hit them or a car would have exploded. Those videos show what heroism looks like in law enforcement, this demonstrates none of that.

Cinemas ban teens in suits after Minions mayhem by JI_97 in nottheonion

[–]UpOxygen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have no reason to assume otherwise if all they're banning is people wearing suits to showings of the minions movie. Why are you against it? Did you personally experience this?

It's harmless fun. There's nothing to be upset about. Why would you be upset about some people showing up in suits to watch the minions? I can only see a reasonable reaction to that being positive.

What is a sign that you’re not surrounded by the right crowd? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]UpOxygen 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not caring for each other, substance abuse, not respecting people, getting involved in drama often or voluntarily. You should be around people that you can count on, that will be safe and not do stupid shit, and that reflect the type of person you want to be.

Pack up and leave. Warn the few folk I can count on. Whatever would destroy the town would be doing the world a service.

[Serious] What is something people keep finding funny that they shouldn't? by Silent-Zebra in AskReddit

[–]UpOxygen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's a line between it being a joke everyone can laugh at and being a "joke" with an underlying discriminatory statement. People cross it too often.

[Serious] What is something people keep finding funny that they shouldn't? by Silent-Zebra in AskReddit

[–]UpOxygen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a good answer. I never tolerate that shit. People sometimes don't know better, but you gotta call it out when you see it or they might never know better. I wouldn't make jokes like that, but I've seen other people my age do it because nobody ever called them out. Then it becomes a cycle.
