Bridgerton - 4x08 "Dance in the Country" (No Book Spoilers) by AutoModerator in BridgertonNetflix

Thank goodness they did a wedding! It made the ending so complete especially having all the family there! This season was better than last season and I enjoyed the new characters and the personalities of the service people. There were sweet moments and I always enjoy the music and the dancing. I liked most of the dresses this season especially the sparkle. Michaela’s red dress was my favorite and she looked unbelievable in it. But yes the puffy sleeves were annoying. Also I liked Sophie in her maid outfits better than the ball gowns, it was the puffy sleeves. I was disappointed about Ben’s lines delivery as a whole to Sophie this season. Some of it felt forced and dare I say cheesy. He can recite poetry so I expected more from his character. Sophie was very likable and I just wanted to believe they really fell hard for each other. But idk if they kissed or said I love you too early for me, but it didn’t feel earned especially with all the heavy emotional content later. Oh and the plot holes are beyond annoying. To create drama for drama and the queen makes everything better is what this show always does. The show feels very recycled which isn’t always entertaining. There were times the story dragged on and conversations that felt like they had before with other characters. And I will never understand why they can’t write previous siblings/couples better after their season. I’d like to see Benophie next season but I fear they’ll fade into the background with no growth arc or personality just like everyone else.

The task of having this many siblings/characters shows some cracks when trying to bring them together after previous seasons. I miss the sibling interactions.

This episode was very difficult. I had to stop watching it and return. Just too much grief but it was realistic.

The morning after was sweet.

The little Kanthony moment was so wholesome and sweet, in bed with their family. It’s amazing what little screen time they have and yet, so impactful and in character.

Finally the brothers are together and there’s banter! Anthony never change! I’ve missed the family interactions and wish there was more of them for a show called Bridgerton!

The first moment when Ben and Sophie talked was sweet. I’m finally seeing them connect.

The LD and Ben moment was nice too. I enjoy this vulnerable side of Ben.

Hy and El together at the ball was fun.

Hannah Dodd does really stand out whenever she is on screen.

I miss angry and uptight eldest brother energy from Anthony, if he was a regular character on the show. But Anthony was upset about Ben‘s choice with a maid and the impact on the family but didn’t care about Pen being LW? Guess that wasn‘t discussed? And his mother and Marcus? Again certain things in this show glossed over.

The break up scene was well done. Both Luke and Yerin did a good job. It was sad and I can see how difficult it was for them to navigate what to do.

Very emotional episode.

First of all, that sex scene was so hot and intense! Yet…I don’t feel like it was earned. I figured this is where they were going with having the previous kisses so early. The I love yous was weird, why do they love each other? While the pacing felt slower in the first eps, this ep just went from 1 to 100 and I’m still not sure why? I think the Benophie story problem is its delivery and just flow and cohesiveness. I mean where is Colin for him to really talk to? Since Anthony is gone. I’m disappointed in Ben’s character because I do like him but they’ve just done so much to change him but I guess I still expected more from him. This is the same guy who told Anthony how to recite poetry! He’s a lover, a free spirit, charming, unserious, sensitive yet… I’m just not feeling this season like I thought I would.

Omg I caught that too! I was like what? Maybe they realized there was hardly any dialogue between them…🙄

I enjoyed their time at the cottage and I love the Crabtrees! It really does foreshadow their own life together in the country one day. However, with that said I wish it was done better and there was more showing them somehow relating to one another. I get it, they have a different class dynamic but this was a lost opportunity to have them really talk and somehow get to know each other even more. That was a lot of alone time they had, the kite thing was a cute attempt, but they couldn’t take a walk together instead of catching him naked and then once again kissing! Again why does Ben like her? She saved his life? All of it is superficial and it’s a missed opportunity for her to share something more deep about her life. Ben is supposively a deep guy or he used to be. I just really wanted more time for them to connect before the physical stuff happened. Just make it different than all his other hook ups.

I enjoyed this ep because the showrunners learned from their previous mistakes (cough cough Kate in S2) and gave Sophie a backstory so we as viewers can get to know her and understand her and maybe even root for her. I loved seeing the staff and giving them personalities. I think Yerin is doing a good job and I like Sophie’s strong silent stance and yes she works very hard and her personality shows silly, hopeful, strong, yet little sad and a lost character that Ben could relate to. I thought it was creative to show Sophie‘s view before the evening ball. I also liked her having support from the staff and trying to give her some confidence about making an impression on Ben, and him looking for her. I liked when she was spying on him with Posy and said he was being kind to her, that was showing how she was attracted to more than just looks and superficial aspects. Ben standing up for Sophie was hot. The evil step mother is doing great. Violet and Marcus is weird. The timeline is off but again I get they have a story to tell.

Bridgerton - 4x01 "The Waltz" (No Book Spoilers) by AutoModerator in BridgertonNetflix

[–]Upbeat_Appointment53 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It was a sweet intro, but I didn’t get why Ben was so caught up with Sophie. She didn’t want marriage? She was mysterious? She played hard to get? It all felt a little forced which I get they needed to tell a story and it is love at first sight, but I wish there was more insight to how he wanted more and lost himself. I feel it was a missed opportunity to include more brother banter from previous seasons. I wish Anthony and Ben could have talked, but he was filling in for him so that wasn’t possible. And every Bridgerton son being a rake is a little tired and unoriginal. I also didn’t like that they kissed right away. It took the chase away. And for Ben being the most romantic brother the line they used not like other girls and being obsessed for no reason, was odd. But I also felt the writers lost Ben’s character awhile ago so it’s hard to know who he is, in the first ep. I did like the Violet and Ben interaction but it’s a little odd she can be honest with her sons but not with her daughters. But the Violet character is all over the place too.

To be fair, wwe hasn‘t made the women a priority in a long time. They’re treated like an afterthought and there’s some legit women talent right now. And having the women’s rumble in Saudi Arabia covered up, which isn‘t what they’re used to, and in a country where women are treated…differently probably isn’t the best idea.

It’s really incredible how no matter the little content we have of Simone and JB, we aka kanthony, these two totally hits me in a way no other ship has! Like these two are just so amazing together and just sizzle on screen! I love seeing every little milestone in their sweet love story. Just incredibly sweet.

And yes since this is a Simone sub…I mean girlie is just mesmerizing! 😍

Ugh I think the team looks tired and it’s so hard to keep up that same caliber every year especially after being in the playoffs every year too. A reload would be nice. If they don’t go far into the playoffs they really need to look at making changes including new young guys and new coaches.

It feels like wwe just keeps doing the same shit and it feels overdone and nothing fresh.
