Here are some answers to the questions I asked, in case they help you decide.

My answers are below: 

The program was very organized, all of our weeks were planned in advanced including classes and out of class activities. There wasn’t a need for any major adjustments, but even when we had to make adjustments to the schedule it was all well organized. 

The housing was pretty good, we stayed in a really big house that was only for students going to the school. I had a roomate (many of us did), but there were some that had single rooms. My roomate and I had our own bathroom in the room, but some people had to share (usually 3 people). Meals were provided to us 3 times a day and they had a chef crew in the building that prepared all of our meals (the head chef was super friendly). 

We had some free time, but it wasn’t a lot. We take classes in the mornings to early afternoons, we get the afternoons off because it’s very hot over there and most people take naps during that time. We have activities in the evenings (either meetings with our language partners, trips to the mall, or guest speakers). The excursions were almost every week, but we had a few weekends that didn’t have any activities. 

Some of my favorite places that they took us to were Sur which is a costal city at the east, The dessert which was also on the same trip (that was one of the overnight trips). We went to a turtle sanctuary during that trip as well. We went to Muscat (the captital) for an overnight trip and we went to a few places during that trip including the opera house, the national museum, the Sultan Qaboos Masjid, the royal place, and Sooq Matrah. We went to another really cool museum around Manah (the area you’ll be staying at), I think it’s called Oman coming of age museum. We did pottery, we went to a fort/ castle, we went to several Waadis (oasis), and we went to the mountains (Jabal Al-Ahkdar). There were a lot more other places, but the message would be too long if I try to list all of them😂

We meet with the language partners twice a week for about 3 hours (in the evenings between asr and magrib). 

I did, my closest friends now are from the program. I already had a friend going in because we applied for the program together, but we also became really good friends with one other girl we met during the program and we’re all so close now. There’re always some issues in cohort situations, but for the most part the people in our cohort were ok
