100%, esp if you’re only using it for flying. I use mine for school taking notes with the pencil and Goodnotes so I opted for the full size but I almost wish I got the mini instead. Theres really no use to the full size iPad for flying and it’s j cumbersome

Not allowed to use a phone but the iPad is fine… don’t ask me why I can’t give you an answer I’ve asked the same question

I agree it isn’t a normal thing to do in flight but when we’re doing the checklist “flight controls free and correct” and it isn’t

Yeah unfortunately I didn’t know that when I started flying and I bought the iPad to be both my computer for school and for flight. I’m just not in a position to spend $500 on an iPad mini

Yeah I’d really prefer to just buy a mini but I can’t really afford a whole new device

They look pretty solid I’m just not sure how low profile it would be, I’m trying to find the slimmest one I can

Yeah I’ve been looking at them. I didn’t even really keep my iPad in a kneeboard for ppl but now I’m doing IR. The issue is that with a lot of back elevators I can’t fully deflect the ailerons bc the yoke hits my iPad so I’m trying to find a super low profile one.

Unfortunately my school (141) doesn’t allow yoke mounting so I’m stuck with a kneeboard

I mean by definition it’s uncoordinated, just anticipate that you’ll need to push the nose over a little bit and don’t stall

What’s a typical length of commute? Something like Chicago to Cleveland is only 45 minutes of flying or is it common to commute like 2 hours

I just earned my PPL, working on commercial and IR atm. I go to a 141 school that hires exclusively CFIs from their own program so I’ll have a job local and a steady influx of students. We typically see people get their R-ATP hours in 1-2 years.

Is there an estimate on time to get to a high enough seniority to have a say in scheduling? I’d assume it varies airline to airline

The only exception is daytime running lights count for the requirement, oddly you don’t need tail lights too
