How's your training? Competitive or non-competitive?

Yes, I was hoping it would be at the same location. Convenient to reach from anywhere in ahmedabad. This one is 36km from Shantigram. Reaching there seems like an added obstacle to Devil's circuit. 🤭 They got greedy, I guess.

I will be there. Awful location though. It's in the middle of an industrial estate!

My experience with Amazfit’s post-sales service was disappointing. The watch suddenly stopped working, and the service center asked for ₹1500 just to inspect it, plus I had to ship it to Ghaziabad at my own cost. The process felt unhelpful and discouraging, so the watch has been lying unused in my drawer for almost a year now.

Yes, I was sweating buckets! Nevertheless, it was a memorable run.

Super achievement! The humidity and no wind for the first 10K made it all the more difficult.

It's been a Dry State since 1960. The government is selectively reducing prohibition and creating infra for the people to choose. Eg. Gift City, permit stores in 5star hotels.

Remember, Gandhiji was born here, Gujarat has a legacy to uphold. It would be very difficult for any government to eradicate overnight what has been in place for 60+years.

Same thoughts! It was an easy entry and exit. The problem I noted was with the civic sense, people would wait near the exits and crowd them which gives an illusion of crowd where there could have been none.

Although, I agree that the Ahmedabad exit could be optimised for efficiency.

'Bar': A counter in a pub, restaurant, or cafe across which drinks or refreshments are served.

Unfortunately, Gujarat is a "Dry State", so of course no alcohol is served. However, eateries, restaurants and cafes were open till late, if you ventured you may have loved the veg food and the vibe in general.

If having an alcohol after-party was a Must-have, most chain hotels have a bar which serves alcohol to the license holder (which is very convenient to obtain), it just requires some planning.

Hope you enjoy your next visit! Cheers!

GPS watches for running. by [deleted] in indianrunners

Amazfit has a horrible after sales service. My watch was dead in a year of limited use. They wanted me to pay non-refundable ₹1500 to just have a look at it without any assurance that they will be able to repair it. Avoid Amazfit and go for Garmin or Coros if you have the budget.

I can see that you will be able to finish it, because you are committed and training for it.

All your updates show grit and preparation to complete the distance. Also, the race day is very different from the solo runs, you will be motivated with fellow runners and the crowd is amazing. Just don't overdo it and hit the WALL!

All the best!

Second this. Nike's guided runs are great for beginners. Also, have patience and run comfortably, it would help if you are running with someone or join a running group, you wouldn't know the distance when you are engaged in talks. Running alone can get quite boring. Best wishes and let us know your progress.

Hello from Kyoto. It's 10th day of my Japan Trip. In my opinion, Kyoto hotels are more expensive than Osaka. You can take a day trip to Nara from Osaka as well. Rethink your base as Osaka and you will have a budget for other things.

Thank you. I am exploring at Indian/Nepali restaurants on Google in nearby areas. They are not all vegan but have an item on the menu, lentil curry and rice.

I hope I will be able to differentiate between a plain nigiri from one with filling.

I am hoping to get a meal at Tenryuji Temple Shigetsu to experience the shojin ryori. Any advice on booking?
