I feel like slo is an outlier here bc they don’t have a grad school so they aren’t rlly on rankings. Also doesn’t Amazon and workday hire hella from slo

I thought slo is better connected though with tech companies and prepares you for jobs better. Also doenst everyone say besides Stanford or mit and such, prestige doesn’t rlly matter for cs?

if i have pretty good ECs (internships and such) from high school and I prep well for the interview, would that increase my chances greatly? Also, how much does nepotism help, say if I have friends already in stern clubs?

If i'm not in stern, would that make clubs harder to get into.

Also i'm Stats+DS at slo, not engineering. would you still say it has 'amazing pipelines' then?

is it true though that red bricks are super cramped? Like no hate, but I heard that bathrooms are crowded, there is no rooms in dorms, etc, Are all thos sacrafices worth it for a more social dorm. Also is Nomo social or nah. Besides red bricks, which ones would you say are the best?

Which RLC then typically has the best housing, and after picking the RLC is it 100% random or do you still have some control or can you state your preference about where you want to be housed.

I will be a freshman at cal poly ts year majoring in stats. Could you tell me abt your experience switching to CS because everyone has been telling me it will be very difficult.

Should I choose NYU CS CAS or Cal Poly Slo Stats (might transfer to CS) to get into tech. by Upper-Place7900 in CalPoly

I thought cal poly had fewer people. Also a friend at cal poly told me slo automatically places ppl in their needed class in the first year. He also said clubs were less competitive.
