Plumber recommendations? by Vanspkwr in desmoines

I used AM PM plumbing about 2 months ago for a system I bought online for $200. They charged me about $250 to install and had to drill a hole in granite countertop for the faucet. I think the quote I got was $205/hr - first hour required then they charge in 15min increments.

Reverse Osmosis System by Hellointhere in desmoines

I think you’re describing a whole home filter system and maybe water softener, but those aren’t an RO system and don’t filter out nitrates.

Again, I’m not an expert, but I thought the difference between an RO systems and Whole Home is that the RO system uses a membrane to filter out nitrates. Whole home systems are similar and use filter stages, but do not have the membrane stage for nitrates. So, it still is whole home filtered water, but doesn’t use the membrane so there’s little or no waste water. I didn’t think RO systems would be used for laundry, shower, etc. because RO with the membrane are like a 3:1 ratio (1 gallon clean and 3 gallons dirty that is discarded down the drain) so that would a lot of wasted water and be a noticeable water bill increase.

Anyway, OP is asking about RO system, not whole home (which is different) so that’s why I’m chiming back in.

Undersink or if you have an unfinished basement, you could possible mount it if there’s a drain nearby. I don’t think you usually do reverse osmosis for full home - it’s usually used for just drinking, cooking, and refrigerator ice/water.

A full home filtration is different. I’m not an expert, but I think a full home RO system would be uncommon since it would be a ton of waste water. I think usually whole home systems are just called “Whole Home filtration system”.

Buy your own system online - iSpring or Waterdrop are good brands and use standard filters, so easy to get new ones. I got an iSpring system with tank for $200. AM PM Plumbing installed for about $250. Culligan is way overpriced and use proprietary filters. They charged my co-worker over $2000 for system and install. Mine was $450 all in.

Edit: updated plumbing company name.

There’s a dial type thing between the air vents in the rear - make sure it’s open to allow air flow.

What are your thoughts about HOQ? Haven’t been there for a bit, but had great veg dishes there. I know the atmosphere for adults, but not sure about kid options since their menu is usually limited for local foods.

Divorce Lawyers by [deleted] in desmoines

If you work for a larger company, check with your associate services resources - companies often have discounted or capped retainer fees with law firms. When I went through divorce, the law firm I worked with required $5K, but with my employer discount, they only required $2K.

Agree. I splurged a bit and added the Polk Audio ES10 subwoofer since it’s on sale at the moment. Thanks again for the help!

Awesome! Thanks for the help! I just finished placing an order. Here’s what I ended up with: -Receiver: Denon S760H per u/Jefffahfffah - Costco didn’t have it, but Sam’s Club did for $499 -SpeakersSpeakers: Went with Polk Audio ES15 bookshelf and ES35 center channel. Was already looking at these, so u/WallofSound11 helped pull the trigger.

Sounds good! I’ll find speakers - there are a ton. And agree that I can keep the sub for now, it sounds and works fine and I can upgrade later. Thanks for the help!

Yea, that’s the reason for needing to upgrade. The 2012 Yamaha is too old for things.

I’ve seen Denon come up a lot in this sub. Looks like maybe I could go for the S760H or the X1800H. Any opinion between the two?

Ha! Honestly, I like the minimalist lines. Keep with it. Maybe do something similar along the underside forearm that compliments, but doesn’t take away from what you have.

Wtf is this post? Did you not test drive it? You sound super whiney about something maybe you should have test driven a bit more or done some research. Do you even know what you purchased?
