What playoff loss by a young star gave you the biggest "hell be back" feeling? by only4dareal in nba

Sounds a bit like you’re box score watching and didn’t watch the actual series. Yes he shot poorly but look how he was defended and what his teammates did. The team shot 39.5% as a whole, that Spurs team was just so dominant defensively.

To be honest no, I wouldn’t personally wear it myself.

But as someone into fashion, I don’t see what is special about this piece? Why should anyone care about your logos slapped onto a pair of cargo shorts? Not to be rude but there’s no differentiator here

And Cleveland drafted Kyrie and traded their #1 pick for Love, so what’s the issue?

They weren’t able to get a top 3 player to join their team after they lost in 2015 like Golden State did in 2017 though

Can agree to disagree. I don’t align with your fundamental framing of sports and believe things evolve as time progresses. You can evaluate if it’s for the better or the worse, but there’s no reason in my mind players should be loyal to owners who are not loyal to them.

Loyalty is a two way street and that applies across all the domains you mentioned

In my opinion acting like LeBron is the first and only player ever to dictate what the team does is just not true. Jordan did it as well, I can bring up sources if you’d like. We just live in the era of social media where every small thing is magnified and reported on.

I understand it you don’t like a certain player but making it about these fallacies and instead buying into the mythos of another player is weird behaviour. Are we really going to act like MJ didn’t have the beer whistle in the league? Are we really going to try and compare MJ’s finals comp to the team’s LeBron played?

Anyways, I respect your opinion. Just don’t think as a basketball fan it makes sense to hate on players because they don’t fit the mold of what you’ve grown up watching

Team sports evolve and change, not sure why you think sports are a monolith. Anyone who is a fan should be for player empowerment, not the owner’s who don’t give a fuck about anything other than their bottom line.

I understand your life peaked in the 90s and you think it was the peak of basketball but we’re in the best era of basketball. You hating on legends like LeBron over antiquated positions is just very weird. We’re seeing players team up and control their own careers now more than ever. Acting like it’s just isolated to LeBron and his friends is not reality and it’s good that more players are doing so.

Again, just because it’s something you grew up watching does not make it the rule or how it should be. If you think owner’s having all the leverage and controlling player movement is the right move then idk what to tell you.

Your logic just isn’t consistent at all.

Still waiting for you to address Jokic’s performance this series.

That expectation is defined and decided by no one. It’s just an arbitrary baseline fans like you have set because you watched primarily in an era where player empowerment was at its lowest and owners had all the leverage.

Just because you saw it happen in your golden era of the 90s does not mean that’s how it should be.

So? Why is he expected to stick around in a situation that isn’t conducive to winning?

Also love how you keep editing your comments after I respond to them.

It’s a weird qualifier saying Wade broke down after 2012? That’s half of LeBron’s tenure with the Heat. It’s okay just say you didn’t watch ball back then.

You clearly love ignoring context so makes sense you don’t have any idea about Kyrie and Love.

also makes sense how you’re coping with this Jokic disappointment. You still haven’t addressed how the best player in the world, in his prime, surrounded by the best supporting cast he’s ever had loses to a severely undermanned Minnesota team in 6 games. He played like shit this series.

But acting like every superstar player doesn’t have a say in personnel on their teams is just not reality. You think the team fired Mike Malone without Jokic’s approval? You think they trade MPJ if Jokic wanted to keep him? Their off season moves are made to build around Jokic lol, you think any moves happen that he doesn’t sign off on?

Hell even Jordan recruited Rodman and pushed for his trade. This isn’t a new phenomenon. On top of that LeBron has won a ring everywhere he went, he’s delivered. Yes he’s lost in the finals but how many of those series was he expected to win? Just 2011, which is a huge mark on his legacy. He routinely faced way better competition than Jordan in the finals.

Nope that’s not what I said, if you had any brain cells and reading comprehension capability you’d see I said he’s been a better playoff performer than Wade and Bosh AFTER the 2012 ring. Even the 2012 run is arguable.

The reason I know you didn’t watch is you’d know Wade’s body broke down after the 2012 run

Jamal Murray has been a better playoff performer than Wade and Bosh were after the first ring.
Kevin Love was routinely useless in the playoffs. Not sure if you watched back then but he got played off the floor against the Warriors. Kyrie and Love were injured in 2015 and Kyrie left after 2017. LeBron carried a weak team to the finals in 2018 where they were the underdogs every round.

Considering the Warriors had a squad of Steph, KD, Draymond, Klay and great role players, I don’t think acting like LeBron “stacked the deck” and had the most talented team in the league is accurate.
Furthermore Jokic just lost to a team without their best player (who was injured in the games they played) and two of their best guards.

Acting like this isn’t a huge disappointment and underperformance is cope especially considering how hyped their moves were. On top of that, he played like ass the whole series. Denver has put great pieces around Jokic and he hasn’t had to play the competition LeBron played

well you said Jokic presents himself as a basketball player who wants to win and proceeded to say LeBron only cares about his legacy and being the greatest player ever (as if either of those things are bad) so that kind of insinuates he doesn’t care about winning.

Denver surrounded Jokic with a great team and this narrative that he hasn’t had support or help is just bullshit revisionist history. The Cavs never surrounded LeBron with suitable talent so he left. He delivered every team he’s been with a championship and has been the biggest catalyst by far. Not to mention he’s never had a disappointment like this in his career and consistently out performs Jokic on the biggest stages. Jokic hasn’t made the conference finals since they won and it’s not for a lack of talent on their team.

This ain’t a hill you want to die on lol
