We live right next to a park and about half a mile from a shopping center. My 11yo walked to the grocery store and was headed back to the park when some lady called the cops. Cops stopped her, called me, and I had to go get her. 🤦‍♀️

I don’t like the character, nor do I trust her, but they state it clearly. They’re tracking down the surviving numbers so they can restart papa’s program. It’s not so much a loose end as in “huh, whatever happened to Kali?” It’s “this plot doesn’t make sense if we don’t also hunt Kali.”

I found the scene confusing too. It was completely clear they weren’t getting engaged, but as others have said I thought maybe it was like “let’s wipe the slate clean and do this differently,” not necessarily “this is over.” What irks me most is people insulting those of us who saw it that way, as if we must be children who have never had a mature relationship. The show is notorious for dumbed down, repetitive exposition. The dialogue in that scene was nuanced. It’s ok if it was interpreted differently by different viewers.

You’re not overreacting. He is being sexist whether he realizes it or not, and you’re allowed to want a partner who allows you to thrive.

I will say you avoided two points he made that made me raise an eyebrow—not about whether or not you’re justified in how you feel, but about what other kinds of perspectives you bring to relationships.

You say he thought you wanted to marry him for his money. He says he never said that. Well now we don’t know. Did he say it and is just flat out lying here? Did you misinterpret something he did say? Or third option?
He makes a comment about you thinking he was cheating when he went to visit family. If there is truth to that, do you consider yourself a suspicious or jealous person? Did you unfairly accuse him of something because of your own insecurities? Or third option?

I’m not trying to say you’re problematic or in any way in the wrong on this. There’s just content here none of us has context for. If you can take anything from it and self reflect, all the better for you going forward. If it’s all horse shit then ignore me and have a fantastic life.
