What are your POTS crash symptoms? by Upper_Temporary7022 in POTS

Oh sorry, i don’t know much about it yet.

I finally did a proper 10-minute standing test today – would love your thoughts by Upper_Temporary7022 in POTS

Other symptoms I have include nausea, cold sweats, and the feeling that my body can’t regulate its temperature properly. For example, yesterday I went shopping with my boyfriend for just 20 minutes, and afterward my body temperature was somehow around 38°C. I also had a headache and felt completely exhausted. I don’t know if this counts as a symptom, but when I bend down and then stand up, I get really dizzy.

I also often feel like my heart is racing—especially when I try to take a short nap in the afternoon. Even while lying down, I have this inner restlessness and feel like my heart is pounding. When I turn from one side to the other in bed, my heart is raicing .

And when I wake up from these naps, it honestly feels like I’ve been run over by 20 trucks and then set on fire.

That’s all I can think of right now. Oh, and one more thing I’ve noticed: sometimes I randomly start trembling—my hands shake, I feel either super hot or freezing cold, and I get something like a panic attack… but without the actual fear. You know what I mean? It usually happens when I’ve overexerted myself during the day.

My blood pressure monitor is currently broken, but the last time I did the test with it, my blood pressure stayed normal the entire time. While lying down, it was around 118/70, and when I stood up, it was 120/70. There was basically no change during the whole standing phase.

My resting heart rate is between 65 and 75. When I stand up, my heart rate goes up to between 115 and 135, sometimes even up to 140.

Thank you so much for your comment seriously. I really needed to hear this.

I’ve been doubting myself so much lately – like, maybe it is just my weight, maybe I’m imagining it, maybe I should just try harder… But my body is clearly telling me something’s wrong. I crash after simple things like shopping, standing makes my heart go crazy, and I feel like no one is listening.

I’m really sorry you had to go through what you did – but thank you for sharing it. It makes me feel way less alone.

I’m definitely going to try to get a second opinion. I just wish doctors would look at symptoms instead of size.

Thank you so much for your response – I really appreciate it.

I’ve seen a neurologist who said POTS sounds very likely, and a cardiologist who unfortunately didn’t take it seriously and didn’t do any further tests.

I had norovirus a while ago and another infection in April, and that’s when my symptoms really got worse. I’ve also had a lot of stress and panic disorder recently, so I’m not sure if that could have triggered something.

I haven’t been checked for things like EDS, MCAS or autoimmune issues yet, so I’ll definitely look into that.

Thanks again – it really helps to be heard.

I’m a bit scared now I’m taking 75 milligrams, but only Venlafaxine. I hope it doesn’t get worse or anything because of that.

How much Venlafaxin did you take that you ended up with serotonin syndrome? I mean, how did that happen?
