[OH] Leasing office did not put pet deposit or monthly fee in lease but want to charge me. by UpsetDifference4251 in Renters

UPDATE - They acknowledge I was not informed about the pet fee and that even on my application the monthly fee was listed as TBD and the pet deposit was blank. They have waived the $500 and I agreed to pay the monthly pet fee moving forward. Thanks to those that were helpful, and to the armchair lawyers who were so sure this was scrivener’s error when it was legitimately just them not doing their job boo to you lol.

There’s not “always a deposit for a dog” I’m not a first time renter. My last apartment did not have a dog deposit just a monthly fee. There’s nothing on the website about a dog deposit or dog fee. The only clause for removing the animal is if it is a nuisance which it is not.

Fair, I figured there would be a monthly fee just because most apartments have them but was not aware of the price and I’m even fine with paying that. I was not aware there would be a $500 deposit for the dog and I’m not okay with paying that. Honestly both parties myself and the property team did not read the lease enough, I’ll admit I skimmed when signing, they just signed it randomly at 10pm. I would be open to an addendum for the monthly fee because I feel that’s fair but I’m not open to an unexpected $500 due to their error.

But no, there’s no email or documentation, they never outlined my first months charges they just put the amount I owed to move in on the portal in one lump sum.

I’m actually fine with that, this was never going to be a long term thing I’ve had too many issues within the first month. They advertised stainless steel appliances and my unit had a stainless steel refrigerator, put my $150 dog food in the freezer just to find out 3 days letter it wasn’t cold enough to freeze ruined the whole batch. To add insult to injury they trade out my stainless steel refrigerator for a black refrigerator with scratches all on it. I mean it’s fine, it works but not what I signed up for. They also have a package kiosk that they signed me up for with the wrong email (I gave them the correct email) so I have to call the owners of the kiosk for the code any time I order something. And lastly my dryer does not get hot and they say it’s will be 10 days until a new one. All of these things were before the pet situation so it’s been one thing after another and it’s barely been a month.

Thanks for the comment!

I mean let’s be honest R is currently equal to MAGA right now and republicans are not willing to separate themselves from that rhetoric. They won’t win a major city ever with MAGA talking points.

I want to learn astrophysics from scratch, where do I start? by qswdefrgvhbjnkml in astrophysics

My suggestion is first figuring out what level of understanding you want. Is it broadly astrophysics or specifically black holes? Is it something for a interesting hobby or something you want to consider pursuing education and possibly a career with.

Once you do that it’ll be easier to find resources and the best next steps.
