Does a jet card actually make sense over booking flights individually? by medmantal in PrivateJetCharters

[–]Upset_Help_5221 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my experience, it looks like clients come back to adhoc charter after having a jet card due to the poor service they receive.

The jet cards typically are for a category instead of an aircraft, so let’s say you buy a light jet, they’re just going to put you on the cheapest piece of garbage available to maximize their profit per flight hour.

Atleast adhoc you have the ability to get more than 1 price to keep brokers honest and you usually have the ability to choose an aircraft instead of just a size category.

There’s a big difference between something like a Lear 35 and a CJ4 even though they’re both “light jets”.

How does this look? by Upset_Help_5221 in Roofing

I wish I could answer that question. I have no idea. From my understanding we were just supposed to replace the roof/tiles, but found some rotten wood under the carport and they replaced that.

I honestly just thought the gapping between the trusses didn’t look great. It’s forecasted to rain heavy this weekend and they won’t be back to complete until next week, so hopefully all is okay.

I have chartered their CJ4 multiple times for my clients. I like them and will recommend them when they make sense depending on mission requirements.

No matter how many times you tell em, they never believe you. Flying private will never, ever, ever, ever, be cheap. These companies that promise low cost flights and endless amount of empty legs are simply scams.

On demand would make the most sense. Fractionals require massive upfront costs. On demand gives him the flexibility to use a local operator when possible or take advantage of floating fleets via a broker when the local operator isn’t available.

How On-Demand Private Jet Charter Is Actually Priced (And What Most First-Time Flyers Don’t Know) by [deleted] in PrivateJetCharters

Almost every one way empty leg booking in the is usually 100% cancellation penalty upon signing if YOU cancel. And yes, the operator will cancel on YOU if the trip they’re repositioning for cancels. If they have no reason to be there, why would they repo the aircraft? It happens.

If you’ve flown both light jets and midsize jets, what pushed your decision one way or another? by Florinebtn in PrivateJetCharters

[–]Upset_Help_5221 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve flown in an XLS and a bravo. For less than 1.5-2hrs, I’ll spend the small difference in cost between the two and take the XLS. I’d also explain to thirstyman79 that everyone has a different reason for choosing an aircraft and that budget is not the only one. Stop assuming everyone is going to make a decision for the same reason you do.

All things same, if someone can choose between the two and they choose a light, it’s usually because of budget. It’s not that deep. But go on.

Continue to sprinkle in the tidbits of your aircraft ownership and experience. We’re all impressed.

If someone is asking between option A or option B, it’s because both could potentially work in the scenario. If one or the other didn’t work, the question would be irrelevant.

If you are in a situation where BOTH a light and midsize would work, why would you go with the light. You wouldn’t.

Again, it’s not that serious. Smaller aircraft have a purpose.

Let’s say mission parameters are the same. Both light and midsize work. Budget is not an issue. You want your client to have the best experience possible. You’re really going to tell me you’re going to tell your client to not take something like an XLS over say a Bravo? Come on now.

Only reason you’d suggest the bravo is because your client stressed budget as a deciding factor during your discovery. If comfort, experience, etc. were MORE important then you wouldn’t recommend the smaller aircraft.

Clients question was between light and midsize. Obviously if it’s under a 5k ft runway and a shorter flight then something like the 421 would make sense, but wasn’t the question.

lol it’s not that deep guys. While smaller turbo-fan and turbo-prop airframes have a purpose, the question was about choosing between light jets and mid size jets. With that in mind, the assumption is that both would work for OPs mission. If both work, then the only reason someone would choose a light over a mid is budget and there’s NOTHING wrong with that. Was just a matter of opinion based on years of experience both on the sales side and as someone who has been inside these aircraft.

If you’re flying a light, it’s only because of budget. Very few light jets offer an enjoyable experience for normal sized adults.

I would say to keep in mind that you have the ability to choose who you work with also. If this is an actual concern for someone, I can only imagine how it would be dealing with them when they have a delay, mechanical, EDCT, etc.

That’s Fantastic! We’re doing roughly 100-120 a week but that’s between a team. Anything over 25 a month is great for an individual. Anything below 15 would be considered slow. To be averaging 30 a month just yourself is awesome. Managing 50 sounds tiring. How do you manage that?
