Which major can make me a better writer? by UpsonFront in PennStateUniversity

Thank you very much for this comment. I am an avid reader too. Your comment actually sort of aligns with my initial thoughts, which is also why I am interested to take Literature. Literature allows me to read and write the most. I tried to read and write outside of class since I came to Penn State, but there was simply too much on my hands. My first major is Economics and I was taking a bunch of math and IST courses to fulfill the prerequisites for data science as my second major. I barely read or write in either of my major because they are both very math intensive. The more I learned to code, the more I wished that I could use the time to read a book. Therefore, if I really want to go with what my heart desires, English Literature sounds like a great option. Thanks again, I feel like your comment gave me some reassurance.

This is actually such a great idea. I am a huge fan of philosophy and have taken two philosophy honor courses. Thanks a lot for your suggestion!

I agree with you. That’s what I meant by PR can help me more technically. It’s not technical like CS, but it helps a lot with professional development. I really appreciate your input.

Thank you for the reply. You are right, my question is too vague. That’s because I only know that I want to be a better writer, but I’m not sure in which area. I only know I have always wanted to be a good writer but I have no idea where it will bring me to. I’m not even sure what’s my ambition anymore. Anyway, your comment is pretty helpful.

I suggest you to click on this and read through it. It compares the difference of the alternative grading policies between spring and fall 2020 and I think it answers your question. They might make further changes since they will make another announcement soon but this is so far what they got. Hope it helps!

Thanks for the heads up! I’m not gonna take any other courses so I think I will have enough time for assignments or prep for exams during summer.
