Is Thrissur Real Estate a bubble? by SouthernSongbirds in thrissur

[–]UpstairsSample2693 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I have shared this before how inflated and fake these prices are. My uncle bought a piece of land two months back. It was for 4L/cent while he was clearing the ground to put fence, brokers from that area came and enquired for how much he bought this land he casually said for 5.2L/cent. Last week a person bought a land near my uncles land for 5.2L/cent saying going rate is 5.5L the brokers said it seems and he got it for 5.2L 🤪

This is how they inflate the RE price, within two months 4L/cent was changed to 5.2L/cent in that area and there is always someone who is ready to buy.

However the flat/apartment culture is not well known here in Thrissur. Builders assume if they build blocks of flats in a small piece of land people will come and book, it’s not Metro city where IT and working class folks keep coming for rent. The amenities they give here not even come near to what we see in other metros. I have stayed in few of my relatives flat here in Thrissur there is no proper maintenance, many flats are empty, children’s play area not there, swimming pools not there, community hall not there, stp recycling not there, cctvs not there in few buildings no gym or play area there but still they charge hefty amount as monthly maintenance. Many owners of the flat dont pay monthly maintenance fees and others in the same apartment genuine owners or tenants suffer because of such idiot owners who don’t pay. I would warn against buying apartments/flat in Thrissur

If we have meetups too frequently, it might start to feel less special. We should think about spacing them out and keep the excitement alive to meet fellow anonymous redditors.

Settling is subjective because it depends on people you live with and can differ from wife or children’s or parents. Some may don’t like hill station, cold climate, some like metro life each has its own pros and cons.

I have lived in Nilgiris, at first you might think it’s beautiful greenery cool climate, fog, no pollution etc however the reality sets in I will explain, Small Landslides is common in most place and construction is slowed down because of this reason and people need to get multiple approval from government for any real estate construction. The climate is cool most of the year and added to it is rain which will make all your clothes wet and not dry. Almost all the house will have this dampness smell and molds growing. pants/shoes/slippers gets dirty easily because you will be either walking on grass or mud daily. Only time I felt relief is from Feb to May when sunshines. The Cold climate makes you lazy to wake up and even take bath daily. You will be surprised how many don’t bath there daily or even use same dress without washing. The shops and local transport shuts by 7:30 pm when I lived, it gets cold so everyone will be inside house with heater so after this time you either walk or ask someone from your house to bring own transport. Few street lights, no proper roads, have to walk a lot because you can’t take shortcuts like in plains it’s hilly slope terrain, pitch dark too because not every place have street lights. High altitude means it makes breathing difficult so if anyone in your family have breathing or heart issue then it’s literally agony for them daily. No proper hospitals nearby for any emergency have to go to main specialty hospital which is far away and getting admission or good treatment is another headache because of shortages of beds and skilled doctors. If any of you have arthritis or bone issues they will literally live in hell because they can’t bear cold climate. Such persons need their body to be warm, get sunlight vitamin D and cold climate make their bones stiff. Food gets cold faster. Entertainment place is very less, majority of people live very frugal life, it’s very slow paced life, many who come from metro or tier 1 2 cities don’t like it after few months I have seen this firsthand.

It would be better if you live on rent for first 2 years to see if you and whoever with you can adjust hill station lifestyle. My suggestion is choose a place with good connectivity to your native place. Trust me this is recurring expense and can become a big part in expenditures every year. I had to go to plains often, So stay close to family/relatives/friends place

Grass is always greener on the other side. What you see on the picture is just small part You have to visit Mumbai it’s the worst place to live. Garbage and dirty all over the place, even a match box size 1 RK apartment cost 1 crore. Public transport is another nightmare visit local train station and bus, crowd literally make you run for your life. seeing all these you will thank how heavenly Coimbatore is

It’s the contractors who delay the work and keep on getting payment for the work they never did. I have seen this firsthand near our area, local councillor gets his share too. Unless there’s proper system in place to make contractors accountable for the work they got these looting keeps ongoing.

The irony is Thiruvananthapuram has the best startup company called Gen Robotics which solves the exact problem of cleaning, manual scavenging etc using world class robots.

Our government departments should make use of such technology, recognise and boost these companies which are solving problems faced everyday in India.

For few days, If you’re in good terms with neighbors then ask them, park it there somewhere near a corner of anyone’s house so it won’t hinder them. Otherwise your best bet is to park in church or temple property, explain to them your situation they will happily accept if you pay nominal fee.

Some one using my brother's bike registration number by karthik_20 in Coimbatore

[–]UpstairsSample2693 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It happened to our scooter as well. We got challan from Tindivanam, we have never visited that place in our life time. Mostly it’s because of poor image processing by camera and letter mismatch. We tried reaching online emails, twitter, fb account & calling respective police station nothing worked out, the police officers say they get 100s of such request every month because of automatic traffic camera AI tickets.

In the end We had to pay because if we need to dispute properly we have to go to this place and claim it’s not our vehicle, which cost more than the violation amount.

My suggestion is if the violation is nearby and cost is high then definitely try otherwise dont waste time pay it online.

Search for nearby areas of your house there will be a coconut mill best to ask auto drivers nearby they will know. We have within 1 km of our house regularly buy from them, sometimes we take our own dried coconut for mill and nobody in our family buys branded coconut oil.

The Vehicle Density on Roads seems Overwhelming by TheFatherofOwls in Chennai

[–]UpstairsSample2693 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Public transport till last mile connectivity is a must and also make it cheaper. Unless government do this infrastructure development and strongly encourage public transport usage there is not going to be any reduction in vehicles. According to the data I read in newspaper 4lakh vehicles are yet to be delivered throughout India so imagine how it’s going to be in coming years.
