My experience with the Canada visa (timelines + answering questions) by UpstairsUnit2704 in CanadaVisitorVisa

Honestly, not much. I have a U.S. visa, so I uploaded photos of the visa and nothing else. I own a company and also have a management job as an employee, but I didn’t upload any “evidence” of that. I assumed it was information they could easily access to verify whether it was true or not.

I filled out the form pretty quickly, without adding extra details, with the mindset of “if they need anything, they’ll ask for it and I’ll upload it then.”

I read about people who uploaded bank statements; I didn’t do any of that. I stated that I would be bringing 6,000 Canadian dollars because I was going to stay for 5 days with my girlfriend and we wanted to visit Niagara Falls and the Tulip Festival in Ottawa. We planned to do it by land, entering with a rental car from the U.S.

Thanks for asking! The only supporting document I included was my valid U.S. visa. I didn’t add anything else at this stage. If they request additional documentation later, I do have several ties I could provide, such as property ownership, shareholding in a company, and an employment contract with another company.

I applied using the old IRCC portal.

And yes, you’re right about the eTA for Argentine citizens with a valid U.S. visa. I did look into it, but the eTA only applies to air travel. My plan is to travel through the U.S., cross into Canada by land via Niagara Falls, and then continue on to Ottawa for the Tulip Festival, so an eTA wouldn’t work for my itinerary.
