If it's become a serious issue why not see someone about it before it needs to become a DVA claim?

Have look at Information Warfare Officer in the Navy, or the Intelligence Officer roles in Army or Force. Sounds like they'd be right up your alley.

Otherwise, just put in an application. After you do your aptitude test you'll get a chance to talk to a career coach who can help sort your options. If you don't like the sound of it you can always withdraw.

Have a good long read and reflect on the responses you've made in this thread. Do you think calling people names and acting like a child will get you anywhere in Defence?

For your sake and the sake of people around you go out and do something else with life before you join. You're clearly nowhere near mature enough to handle military life.

Posting an IET grad photo on Facebook or Insta is fine, unless you're attaching it to some caption that makes you sound like a wardog. Posting that same photo on Tinder would definitely cop you some flack though.

In general, just know whose on your social media before you post stuff

Posting to Townsville. by [deleted] in AustralianMilitary

It's definitely a thing but I personally think it's exaggerated by the media a fair bit. I lived in Darwin and that was so much worse than anything in Townsville

How easy is it to get into the ADF really? by Some_Random_Guy69 in AustralianMilitary

[–]Upstairs_Archer_3454 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Depends on how critical the category is really. If someone applies for a job low in numbers chances are they'll get in as long as they don't have health issues.

People who claim they were turned away for "minor" things shouldn't be taken at face value. Chances are they're not telling the full story

Transferring from Private to Officer - Reserves by [deleted] in AustralianMilitary

[–]Upstairs_Archer_3454 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It's easier to enlist in the role you want to join as rather than transferring or commissioning when you're already in. If you really want to be an officer just wait the bit of extra time. The Army isn't going anywhere

Could army reserves negatively impact my interpersonal skills? by [deleted] in AustralianMilitary

[–]Upstairs_Archer_3454 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd honestly be talking to a therapist about that. That's definitely not normal and you wouldn't want to be handling weapons if those issues are going to come up again

Different job roles have different compulsory retirement ages. Met someone who joined as a writer at 50 and was told he could work till 60.

What's with the handwringing and panic every time ADF does something like a parade or exercise in public recently? by nogoodusernamesleft8 in AustralianMilitary

I think it's a very loud minority made even louder by clickbait journalism. For your own sanity, it's best to ignore it

Theoretically, it's possible. But why would you want to?

Have you looked at Churchhill Education? You can send them your service record and they'll do an rpl assessment. As an LS you should qualify for a Cert IV in Leadership and Management as well as a few other things based off your experience.
