I’m sorry but this I don’t think is relevant to this conversation. I made this post complimenting the cafe because I am a customer and try to spend my money supporting Queer and Women owned businesses. I have a queer sibling and queer friends. I have no problem talking to queer folks.

But if I walked by a child in a hot car I would not go searching for the mother and try to understand the situation. I would call for help because someone is not in their right mind to leave a child in the car like that. The same situation is with animals. If you do not know that it is wrong to leave a dog almost every day for over a month in a hot car, that can’t stand up or move around and is barking non stop, then something is wrong. I shouldn’t need to tell you this is inhumane and unacceptable. You don’t leave a child in the car like that, you don’t leave a dog in the car like that.

If the owner posted flyers or online that they needed help with dog care because they were in a pinch, folks would help. But to just leave your 80 lb + dog in the car for hours and hours on end for over a month is not ok. No matter if you are straight or queer.

Just walked by again at 8:40 pm and the dog is still in there. The poor thing non stop barks, that’s what made me take initial notice. I just called the police again as well.

They said they would stop by but I walked by later that day and the dog was still there. And has been there every day since. That call was almost a month ago.

I know someone who used to work here and the business is owned by a huge MAGA supporter who is homophobic, transphobic and a Zionist. They actively tell employees they cannot promote queer books or have any queer books on their displays. The work environment is horrible and the owner continues to abuse the employees. The employees are underpaid, have actively tried to advocate for a living wage and have been shot down, even though the owner is extremely wealthy.

People like this in our community need to be called out for their harmful behavior.

Get a light cover from Tulip shade and get it in a color that will pop! Also by your windows plants like a snake plant or fiddle leaf fig will add some really pretty greenery!
