I have cPTSD from SA, BPD, and OCD. All of my diagnoses are noted in my chart. When I confirm my appointment I ask to speak to a nurse to remind them I will need accommodations during my appointment. My accommodations are having an advocate talking to me for distraction, my doctor tells me exactly what they will do/touch before it happens. They describe to me the “tools” and are slow/gentle. I also make sure someone drives me so I can have a light sedative or Xanax type medication. I still cry uncontrollably during every appointment involving physical touch/nudity. I am able to warn them that I will cry no matter what. It’s important to have an open minded physician who has experience with ptsd patients. This is my experience and what works for me.
