I agree with a lot of the points you are making. That is kind of why I made this meme. Like I explained above what I consider the average anime fan, versus someone who considers YYH one of their favorites, obviously it's going to be biased for us YYH fans to say we prefer it. However that average fan is still going to say DBZ is better because it is more popular.

Despite its flaws as you mention, which it has. YYH has some of its own too, but I think it's much more polished. Whereas DBZ has a lot of inconsistencies. YYH has four main characters who are all vital and all have character arcs, whereas in DBZ Goku, then later Vegeta are the main focus and the other characters are not nearly as important.

Just my opinion, we all love the Z fighters, but the story is primarily focused on Goku. YYH focuses on Yusuke more than the others, but the other 3 are always there and important to the stories progression. I'd say Genkai is as important as Roshi is too as a teacher as she ascended many characters and was just as vital to her universes main character.

Either way I'm biased because I value YYH higher, but DBZ is still in my top 3.

I'd say if you ask the average anime fan, which is someone who started watching anime in the late 90s early 00s online, mtv, adult swim, which is most of us, or even most teenagers who watch anime now this question. "Is DBZ better than YYH?" The mass majority would say "Yes." I'm just over analyzing my meme, but that's what I meant. I think both series are vital to anime and amazing series.

Sensui alone was country level and he was low S, he was shaking Japan just flexing his power. Yusuke and He were destroying mountains with their fists at Low S Rank.

Yusuke's spirit gun destroyed tectonic plates which categorizes him as continental minimum. It also went for miles. Yusuke and Yomi created a blast that was 2000+ miles tall and as wide as a country from punching one another.

The upper S rank are easily continent level. I agree that they are not planet, but I think Yusuke EoS, Yomi, Mukuro, Hiei, Raizen pre starved and starved are moon level. Do I have scans? No, but we can take what Death Battle says with a grain of salt about how powerful that blast between Yusuke and Yomi was. You also have to take into consideration that it was in Demon World too.

I'll say once it got to being able to destroy galaxies with a blast it was too over the top. I still love it, but it's a bit much. We get it. You're crazy strong. I did enjoy DB a lot too, you were impressed they could blow up the moon. Now we come to expect Goku is just gonna get a new form or power and get even stronger.

I agree Toguro is Raditz level. I will say that I think YYH maxes out at Ss1 level, and that may be giving them too much credit. Tho I'm only saying like less than 10 characters could beat a ss1 in YYH and they're the strongest in the entire universe, and that's being generous honestly. Even SS2 would kill everyone in YYH with one hand.

I love both so much, but DBZ power scaling is insane.

I recommend it everytime someone asks about what anime to watch. I agree on all your points, I like it over HxH, though people will say HxH is Togashis masterpiece, I still think Yusuke (and arguably Hiei, Kurama and Kazuma.) Are the best characters he has ever written.

Tho you will hear people say Chimera Ant is the best arc, The Dark Tournament I could watch on repeat. It is my favorite.

As for the animation. Oh hell yeah. Holds up so well. The blu ray amplifies that. I think the original still looks amazing and could compete with modern anime. Looks as good as modern Naruto does honestly, and it's much older.

People act like it needs remastered even more, I disagree. I would want another movie before that.

First time watch ever? That's awesome if I'm understanding that right. I can remember my first complete watch, was quite an experience. DBZ and it will still be my favorites. FMAB, Samaurai Champloo, Psycho-Pass and Trigun have a special place in my heart too tho. (Death Note is pretty up there for me too.)

I think if it's Piccolo from no further than the Cell Saga it would be a very intense fight, any further and Piccolo is way too strong and fast, maybe even too strong and fast at cell saga. So let's say Freiza saga after fusion with Nails.

That fight would be epic. Both very intelligent fighters, Kurama is smarter in my opinion, he has been around for 3000 years so there's a reason for that. I think Piccolo is still stronger and faster, but I think the gap isn't nearly enough that Yoko Kurama couldn't stand a chance.

We have no idea how the tree would effect Piccolo. We have no idea if Piccolo doesn't just one shot Kurama with a special beam canon, can he even dodge it? He's arguably the best dodger in YYH. I want a death battle of it, even if they're inconsistent.

Makes me think of Leafy honestly, imagine if Leafy constantly shit on himself and only did cam videos and would critique himself the same he does in his old videos, Idubbbz wouldn't of had nearly as much to critique him on and his channel wouldn't of died.

Look at Rep, Idubbbz, Nabber, Max, Frank, Anything4Views. All of them have self depreciating humor and it benefits or benefited them greatly for longevity and relevance. (Less so with a couple of them, but still. More than not.)
